Downloaded the demo and this game looks nice and all but it feels laggy on my 7800GT. I first though that I dint had enough ram but when I checked the ram usage there was only 700MB used (I have 1Gig). Even on the low settings this game feels lagy. Maybe its the HDR or smt. The fps jumps up and down all the time: from 100 to 20.

Or maybe its that my 7800GT is just to crap for this game (runs Quake4, Doom3 without problems) Crying or Very sad

If you don't want that "crappy" 7800GT I'll take it?

Twisted Evil

I was just trying to say (in a weird way) that this demo runs like shit. Its like beta or smt. I even can feel some lag when running it on min settings. Hope they will fix this problem in the full version or else this game is going to be another crap FPS that had the potential to be a good game.

All the lag problem i think that is material quality. If you set at low there is not lag.
I think that material qulaity at high is pixel shaders 3.0 and at low no pixel shaders.
Just go at one wall and change this option from high to low.You will see the big difference

Anyone remember when a demo was at least a full level? Remember in Shogo were it was like two full levels long? Doom shareware was very large as well. These 15 minute long demo's are just sad.

OK, I have tried the demo also.
I have a AMD 64 3500+ and a geforce 7800GT.
I enterd the game @ 1600x1200.. it was verry laggy. I noticed it in the menus allready.
It was like I was playing on my old PC.
I thought.. huh? with a geforce 7800GT???
OK... I put it on 1024x800 .... still the same problem.. maybe a bit better but still.
I say: Badly optimized demo... why are they bringing demos.. that run like crap even on high end computers??
Thats not a selling advantage!!!!

I think if this game should run at a constant 60 a70 fps, It should be verry great, specially with the slowmotion features.

I hope the full will run better!!!!

The developer said there's a problem with dual core CPUs. If you have one you should deactivate one core then it will run better. Maybe that's your problem.

Look at hes specs , hes not on a dual core .

Read the official forum , everybody have problem with the demo .
Even the devlopper said the demo had major problem .

My problem was shadow , i had to turn shadow off . And even after that the frame rate was rediculous .

PPL with dual 7800 gtx get problems in other forums .

The demo is buggy and not optimized . Dont search for fix . Wait for them to optimize it .
They said the retail wont be like this .

Ok, I have been looking for a option to turn the shadow off..
In the ingame video menu here is resolution, details= high, and antialiasing.
Where do you put the shadows off, I will try that, and inform you guys if it is better.

Thanks

This demo was unappealing, good graphics or not, this game is not amazing like FEAR for example. The feel of it is very standard, and it coudl have been more professionaly done. My biggest problem was with the HUD, total turn off (but since when the hud matters? well it's just something that throws itself into your eyes as awful). Even though FEAR did not have diverse environments, it's still better than this game. It's nice that you get 3 powers though, stop, slow and rewind, the rewind was the coolest i thought. Judging from the gameplay of the demo, i'd rate it at about 8.5/10. Decent, but not amazing, and just for comparison i give FEAR about 9.2/10.
