They're real-time, just 40-60k polys models with AA and blurred (non-detailed) backs vs 15-30k in-game.

Yes, the first one is a render because of tons of FX hard to make in real time. But all the custscenes are in rt, I was talking about those.

Seriously, what the hell is that water effect? What the fu**, Avalanche? It's not 2002 anymore.. I don't remember JC3 or Mad Max looking this bad.

I heard that JC3 was plagued by performance problems, but if this is what they meant by doing "optimization" for JC4, they should be ashamed. That water in JC4 is amazingly horrible.

Did some digging around and apparently this might be a bug. The game's current state is that whatever you set in the options, it defaults back to the lowest possible setting. Hence that abominable water effect too. What a messed up launch, again..

The game had some issue with the screen space reflection delay and how it really broke things like mirrors.

But the water was quite good as I recall, not exactly something like Watch_Dogs and it's sequel but pretty impressive tech instead of flat surface with reflection and little else and whatever is broken in this game beyond that. Very Happy

Which looks like it can be quite a few things from the recent info on what the engine isn't really doing.


Just Cause 3 was supposed to be the rushed one not whatever went wrong here. Hah oh figures they'd bungle this too.

I had a feeling we gonna see an early rls, maybe not that fast but im fine with it ^^

IMHO since we`ve seen how broken the game is i assume its somewhere borked which made it easy to circumvent denuvo. You know like unity and denuvo are a perfect match grinhurt

Now lets see if the first major patch is removing denuvo ^^
