Well.. they said on Talking Dead that Rick is completely finished with the Walking Dead so don't expect him coming back at all.
The 3 movies with Rick are kind of their own thing that will introduce new characters so he is done with the main show but still has those in the future. They said the first movie will take place essentially right after the episode ended and will start filming in early 2019.
Episode 5 was good but they couldnt even kill him in their stupid decision to do so.

Rick should have had his mid-season or end-of-season moment.. dong it in the middle of a season greatly lessens his overall contributions considering he is, oh, the A1 top leader in all of TWD both in the comics and TV Show and this is how they dropped him in the TV Show? Yeah, it's definitely getting there. With Telltale's series coming to a close and the other recent disastrous shooter-y thing, there are no mainstream secondary mediums to milk anymore. Only the show is left...or well, whatever rotting freak is still feeding on S01's remains
