I finished it. I enjoyed the game a lot despite its glaring flaws (balance issues, AI, production value). But in the end it left me with a bitter taste thinking of what could have been with a proper budget...

I love how all your stats are useful in skill checks.

Luck especially is great. Remember those guys that rob you at the beginning of the game?

With Luck 10 you can

Luck has some other seriously awesome skillchecks, that let you weasel yourself out from some really tough fights.

There might be some 3-4 points to gain for base stats in game. The max skill level is 199 but on 120 you should pass all checks. Some say that you have to max out the survival skill to meet all random encounters.

There is no limit to character level.

is that 3-4 points for each stat, or overall for all of them?

I only know of 2, a "potion" in Roaring Forest and a puzzle box in Dead City (requires pick-pocketing).

Roaring forest nets you 2 points, you have to sacrifice something in one place.

You can also fish up a golden fish at the lake in the first town, but I think you need high luck for that.

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.

You don't need high luck, but it is luck based.

It's still 1% chance for 1 luck point.

You do need high luck to have a good chance of success. You can get 1 luck in the Roaring forest and several points with different types of alcohol.

Warning to those playing the isodemo: I'm stuck in Dead City, in the bunker there. You're supposed to open 3 doors controlled by an AI, but the last door doesn't open. I tried reloading several times, but it doesn't work. You either talk your way out of it (needs super high speech, it seems), or you must disable the computer in another room. Both don't work.
It's supposedly fixed in v1.06, but there are only releases up to 1.04 Rolling Eyes

Meh, let's try Pathfinder, then, finally. I feel in a masochistic mood Razz

I've not reached that part yet (too many games and too little time), but folks at CS Rin have all the homemade goodies to stay up to date (both xDelta patches and complete releases). Pretty handy whenever the scene is slacking. Razz

Talk to them by clicking on them like an ordinary npc and click barter, (or do it through dialogue) if you want to add or remove items. If you want them to use specific guns you'll have to just give them a gun and the ammo for it and not any other guns they may be carrying. As for armor, I'm not sure, they may just equip the best stuff they have. Maybe check the steam forums on this topic.

Yeah, it works just as in Fallout. Give the items to the companion, and if he can use it, you'll see it equipped. Guns are a bit weird, as they don't always use the best guns even when they have the skills (they somehow prefer smg's over rifles, so they'll rush enemies in combat to get closer instead of keeping distance).
I believe npc's also acted like this in Fallout 1/2, so it's very nostalgic
