I believe IGN tested a almost complete beta at the start of the month, could be that.

OMG I just got a heart attack! Very Happy
But how can this be final?? The release date is in the second half of March. Very suspicious...

Is it multilingual?

I Like it its a decent enough game nothing ground breaking here just a decent 3rd person shooter with some driving sections and the odd puzzle, the puzzles r pretty easy tho tbh. i'm at 11 - 12 on the game atm and will prolly complete it. btw for those other NTSC users this game has a built in 50/60hz selector, and for the europeans yup its multi language

This is the Final Version, the game is released here in Sweden in about 3 weeks so why should it be a Beta?

The game is over 1month away in europe, with the 10th of march as the new release date. So no, this is likley not the final store version.
It would make more sense if it was the US version since that is out the 28th this month (it would still be a very early release though), but it's the PAL version so it's most likley not the final store version. Smile

This have happened many times before. And in basicly all cases it hasn't been the final store version. You can problary still complete it without any problems though.

Ok, I checked the release and this is NOT the final version. How do I know this?
Easy, the disc label is "24_PREMASTER19_0". A final retail version will not say PREMASTER. Smile
That's a big fuckup from confusion, they shuld atleast have changed the label if they wanted to get away with it. Laughing

Haha, that it had too. Laughing
Anyway, after my -rw disc was burned I gave it a go and I actually liked it. Graphics are quite good, and the controlls are great. A huge plus is that jack can actually WALK WITH THE GUN DRAWN AND AIMED! Capcom, see and learn. Laughing
Anyway, it was a nice surprise that it turned out as I hoped, a solid game with good controlls. I will gladly play the final when that is out. Smile

Edit: Also remember people that this is a PRE master version, and pre master version is basicly the final version. All that might change from pre master to master is a few lines of code, and nothing that will change the experience. What you see and think about this pre master version is what you will see and think about the retail version. Pre master is not beta, it's way past beta. Just wanted to make that clear for those that wonder or might be dissapointed. Smile

it crashes at the end of disk 1 then when you try to play the next mission from disk 2 it crashes at the end of that so its not without its glitches and basically makes it pointless to play since you cant unlock everything. I bet this game is gonna be a dvd 9 and what we have here is a build of the game on 2 dvd 5's with the debug menu. Does seem a bit excessive this game being so big.

be warned when it crashes at the end of disk one it corrupts your saves so the only way you can play the rest of the game is to use the debug menu.

Sounds pretty wierd, have you experienced that yourself or just read it?

you have to keep switching the disks to go from one level to another after the 16:05/4:05pm segment so this makes me think its a dvd9 split over two disks with the debugging menu and it usually crashes at the end of the level i think the GAMEDATA.1 and GAMEDATA.2 files are meant to be on one disk. on the 16:05/4:05pm segment at the end it starts to save as it tries to load the next movie but then freezes because the movie is on disk 2 so it corrupts your save. So basically this dev copy is pretty uselees after that sure u can complete the game using the debug menu but its just not the same Very Happy

It's not useless. Rebuild the iso and put the gamedata.2 file on disc 1. TA-DA! Fixed.

Also, you can use the mission select on disc 2 to go directly to the part that's not on disc 1.

I´m stuck at that mission where "someone" get´s kidnapped and you have to escape from the police. It says that i should switch car but it seems impossible to lose the cops chasing you, i´ve tried that level for like 3 hours now and still stuck :/

uhm, actually I'm gonna forget about this release and wait for the retail, even buy it since I love 24 anyway...

Just a word of warning to those who wanna play, it IS really buggy... cut scenes keep cutting out at random times, and the sound keeps skipping during them, REALLY bad if you want to know the story. Other than that it seems to be shaping up to be a cool game, but there are miscellaneous bugs in the gameplay too, for example I was leaning up against a wall leading into a room full of bad guys, and about 5 of them appear out of nowhere behind me, obviously didnt see me there and run straight past, barging into the room guns blazing at nothing until I entered.

Such obvious bugs? That's kinda weird for a pre master version. Pre master is the step before the final gold master, so it shuld be pretty accurat........
Maybe that bug will make into the final version too then. Razz

About the cutscenes and the skipping sounds, are you sure that it's just not your media? Skipping sound is quite common when the specific game do not like the media.
And before you say "I always use this media, and it always work", let me tell you that it can still happen. I have seen it so many times on this forum. Smile
