The thing is, there's a huge, huuuuuge difererence between shit like F76 or MGS:S and Anthem. BioWare's game has its faults, some of them seem quite big, but grouping it with titles like these just makes the whole point someone tries to make moot. Ever heard of the boy who cried wolf? If you call everything the same kind of shit, you're making more harm than good, because when something fucked up really does happen in the industry (vide Battlefront 2 or F76), it'll be that much harder to get the "NO! STAY RIGHT THERE!" message through. There's criticism and then there's exaggeration. It's good to know the difference. I also really don't get this 0-1, "with-me-or-against-me" mentality that's sometimes seen here. You can enjoy a game even though you see its flaws. Nothing wrong with that.

+1. But it's been here for ages, this mentality you mention. I still remember how much hate DA2 got when it came out all those years ago. I actually enjoyed the game in spite of its flaws, but man it was really hard to have a constructive discussion about it here.

Dont know what you are getting at.
EA shits out crap games and especially the mp ones are lootbox/microtransaction shitstorms.
Me having low expectations of a company like EA shouldnt be something surprising.

But the people who like these kind of games, they want to have a new and fresh game to play every once and then. You saying "What does it offer other games don't? lke warframe or destiny 2?", that's an argument that could be applied to virtually every new game in an established genre. Anthem is certainly not a 1:1 copy of these games with new assets - it has a new story, some new mechanics etc.
Basically, shitting on a game simply because one doesn't like the genre is kind of cheap.

Am I reading this right? Are they basically saying that people can pay extra ("Access Premiere"?) to start playing the full game one week early?
If that's true then that's a pretty shitty move, PR-wise at least. It basically means you don't get a level playing field unless you overpay.

You are reading this wrong then.
Origin Premiere gives you the full game ( legion of dawn edition ) as long as you are subscribed. If people are retarded enough to buy the game and get premiere then its their fault tbh. It explains it pretty well on the origin page what you get with premier.

My point wasn't at all about whether you have to buy the game *in addition* to having their premiere subscription. My point/question was about whether the subscription allows access to the full game one week before the official release - meaning that anyone buying the game without the subscription is basically one week behind in terms of progress.

I could go on and on and tell you that fifa is always the same game as well as battlefield etc and that they only doing a carbon copy of some mp coop game with anthem.A Formulaic game basically to have an excuse to print money.
EA is where Inovation goes to die, evident from all the companies EA killed off and all the news we are reading how they snuff out creative projects (sp star wars games) and killing off so many franchises.
As long as lootboxes and shitty practices of companies get accepted and they do profit off of low effort games it will stay the same.
I read that anthem does offer little endgame content, as did destiny 2 as did division at first. Now it might be better for one or the other game but bringing out half assed products without content "hollow games" where they add content later with milking you for money like destiny 2 did with it's add on.
I'm not sure why I even have to explain this.
There are certain companies that do the same crap over and over again and people still have the audacity to defend them.
If you wanna play anthem no one is going to lynch you, but dont get upset at people who see the shitstorm at the horizon of companies who do the same crap over and over again.
While we were arguing the above twitter picture example happened "what a surprise"

, as long as you stay subscribed you have the game. Was the same with bf5, also gave you early access. I dont see the problem there since its pve only anyway.

Yup, I dont really care about stuff like that. Its one thing to complain, but if you are so against it why not just say "fuck this game" and move on? Not like I'm defending EA or Anthem or anything, but tbh I'm just really over all those discussions that lead to nothing but one side kissing anthems ass and the other side hoping for EA and bioware to fucking end themself.

Looking forward to the demo, the VIP-demo was misleading and I didn't actually get to try it last week. On the other hand, I'm glad I didn't have to put up with the connection issues and crashes and hope it works better this weekend.
If they added proper super ultrawide support for this game (32:9) then I'll "premiere" this game until TD2 is out.
As far as the discussion on the head start is concerned... Yeah, that's pretty fucked up. It's one thing to do a headstart but it should also be included in the purchase edition and not be exclusive to a subscription model. That's just pure greed, those who want to buy the game to "own" it, they are forced to spend 15 bucks if they want the head starts and that's not ok!
I would have gone for the big edition but with all this BS I rather just spend 15-30 EUR for 1-2 months of subscription and move on. Their loss...
