Javelins works so much better with a controller. The flying is awful with KB+M.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
I'm sure what he meant is that the visuals, the universe and all that allude to something that would've been very interesting if they hadn't sullied it by trying to make it into something like Destiny/Division/Etc.
the Alliance System – “What is That & How Does it Work?”
The Alliance system is a way for you and your friends to be rewarded for playing the game. Anytime you complete an expedition (Mission, Contract, Freeplay, Stronghold) you earn experience. That experience also goes into the Alliance system. Even better, the experience from the OTHER people in your group also goes into the alliance system. Even better STILL, players on your friend's list who play without you - THEIR experience also goes into the Alliance System.
At the end of every week, you are awarded Coin (our in-game earned currency, used to purchase various items throughout the game) based on how much experience was contributed to the Alliance System. There are several tiers you can work through each week as well as a weekly cap. We want to encourage players to form friendships and play together and we’ve created the Alliance System to do just that!
Guilds – “What About Those?”
The short answer is, Guilds will not be available at launch. While we believe the Alliance System is a great way to encourage social interaction with Anthem, we also understand Guilds play a critical role in helping players form organized groups with people of similar interests and play styles. Our goal is to release guilds as soon after launch as we can. Details on timing will come as soon as we have our plan locked in. We want this to be awesome.
I don't normally hate games, but I really hate this one.
1. Annoying "cinematic" slow walk in town to waste your time
2. Voice dialogue feels like its trying to waste your time
3. Story is terrible
4. Combat is literally just holding your mouse button and mashing buttons, there is no strategy.
5. Enemies magically respawn so there is no real strategy to that.
6. Everything is a huge bullet sponge. Destiny/Division etc is nothing compared to this.
6. Boss fights are beyond terrible, you hold your mouse click forever to shoot at him because they are such a bullet sponge.
You think you find a nice spot to kite the boss, but instead since the boss is a bullet sponge you realise you can't do that, you have to run around fighting infinitely respawning enemies to collect magical ammo that appears...
7. Everything you have feels weak, everything the enemies have feels overpowered.
and i dont like it. mouse+kb controls suck, fov sucks, gameplay sucks, story sucks (for what i read, you dont get much out of in the demo). i dont know who the fuck named all the things, its awful. target audience 13-16 years old

This.
And the loading screens all over the place, jesus fucking christ. Maybe I just got used to Warframe too much, but this felt so bad.
This is the expected downgrade(lighting effects change/visual effects tuned down), not one for parity reasons. Also, the video it's quite cheap, the youtuber compared a scripted map event from E3 with his inability to properly fight a single mob...
i was sure all of the bitter, grumpy old men from the hump are just exaggerating because they love to hate nu-Biowaer-- it can't be that bad!! right...??!
well it is... and it isn't and i guess that's the problem:
first of all what is going on with the performance? GPU/CPU sitting at ~60-70% but the frames keep dropping in the low 40s?! okay -- demo, they'll sure fix that...
then dialogues and ""story"" .. okay , it is nu-biowere after all so skippedyskip and on to the gameplay....
..well, i'm afraid it didnt get any better from here on out.. everything just felt bland, generic and average. there weren't any red flags going up, everything kind of worked but it all just felt so dull and uninspired.. there was no moment where i was going: "hey that's cool! i gotta tell 10 friends about this!" -- i can't put my finger on anything that i really hated, i guess it was the sheer mediocrity of it all that made me angry...
which is what im seeing in most games these days , so maybe its just me and im becoming one of those grumpy old men too
It's a loot shooter, most people here can't seem to get on board with this. The javelines are cool. The focus on mobility and the small gameplay tricks you can use make for an engaging combat with an above the average skill cap for the sub-genre. There's a lot of potential, but I highly doubt it will ever be fully realized.
There's a lot of trash as well. Loading screens during a mission and being automatically teleported to the objective if you fall behind is just bad design. The UI is absolutely horrible. How can they make a game like this and not think about an FOV slider (Bioware, with 20 years of experience on PC...). I could go on.
Anthem is designed to reach a wider audience and by default this means compromising a lot. It's looking better than the cover-shoot-cover-shoot action that's going to be The Division 2, if this matters for anyone.
