As someone that can't stand any Fallout game, this looks very appealing. I'm interested, this setting speaks much more to me I guess.

Bethesda going to have to to step it up with this and Cyberpunk both looking like much better than they can deliver at this stage. Perfect project from Obsidian here suspect this going to make them a lot of funds.

Since Oct 2017 the digital pdf leaks have disappeared so hard to find scans/snaps of the cover story. That's the only thing worth reading in the magazine now
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Usually is when they're trying to hype up a game. Glad there is honesty in this though.

They are aware the game has limitations and are not afraid to talk about this. I think this is a good way to approach the situation, the gamers should not expect an AAA despite the price.

Certain people will see those limitations as a dealbreaker, but there is no way around that. I as well think this is the best way to go about things. I like what i see and it seems like this is indeed a game i will purchase when it's out.

Because 2K and Steam (et al.) taking their cut probably equates to around 50% of the label price, so Feargus wasn't going to take a further hit to his revenue in order to make it cheaper for consumers. Remember this deal was stuck up well before the MS buyout, so they were likely desperate for cash. It's probably too set it in stone to change now.

Oh, so there are mandatory companions? Damn, my interest in this game has just nosedived.
BTW, the gameplay video above is rather similar to Fallout 3/4.

It looks like a copy of FO4 alright, I'm not liking it very much. I'll just leech it, I usually buy Obsidian games.

what? where do you see that? :-O
Looking at the reactons here I guess i understand now why publisheres use to publish fake footage as a marketing while in development instead of work in progress one ...

I'd say it looks worse than Fallout 4. More like Fallout 3 in regard to... stiffness.
Fallout 4 first person combat had some iD (Doom) guys help to make it feel much better. I actually like the FPS aspect in that game. Feels pretty good.

The most noticeable problem in my opinion is that the shooting appears to lack physicality, which can look jarring indeed when combined with the silly numbers popping out and the vintage animations. It's not too far off from what I was expecting though, at least there's locational damage (not sure about the iperslow-mo effect).
When Cain and Boyarsky said not to overhype the game they were probably referring to this kind of "jankiness" - as well as the scope, since the game will not be open world but it will be more like a series of mini-hub like levels/missions.
