10 - 15 was the time I had for the game, one reviewer 100% completed everything in 18 hours and estimated 13 if you just do the story.

So a experienced regular gamer could probably hit 8 - 10 even going for the good ending and the usual with karma systems and trying to be a good little Artyom and not immediately going "AK-47's for everybody!" (C&C Generals style.) and letting it rip every time some one thing happens.
(Which for a FPS that's probably almost constantly.)

EDIT: Ho Ho ho mutant-fuckers.

Sort-of. Need a better source image really but eh good enough.

(This being the Metro series and the situation being what it is that might be closer to truth than anyone had hoped.)

if you skip some things it can be done in 10h but i think around 15-20h is most likely to get all done; many probably spent a few hours tinkering with video options Laughing . Devs said the length is about the first two combined.

So yeah my initial disappointment came from the fact that while downloading and starting up the game the first time my initial thoughts were:

I wonder how many open areas the game will have, and what they will look like, apart from the already seen desert, forest, winter themed levels.
Will it have 3,4 additional one open areas that we didn't saw in the trailers?

And then after playing the first time and quitting I came across a website where they spoiled that yeah, only those 3 areas are there.

Sad
Also gggman stated in his video: metro is a really long game.....WTF? 3 open world levels with 2 additional linear ones? come on

The tech interview Digital Foundry teased is finally up: https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2019-metro-exodus-tech-interview

(Well, one of the two at least.)

Looks like they believe nextgen consoles will be doing Ray Tracing, even if they don't have specialized hardware (since AMD, the likely provider of the chips, doesn't have any currently, as far as we know). Exciting, because I really want this to catch on!

Quote:
In terms of the viability of RT on next generation consoles, the hardware doesn't have to be specifically RTX cores. Those cores aren't the only thing that matters when it comes to ray tracing. They are fixed function hardware that speed up the calculations specifically relating to the BVH intersection tests. Those calculations can be done in standard compute if the computer cores are numerous and fast enough (which we believe they will be on the next gen consoles). In fact, any GPU that is running DX12 will be able to "run" DXR since DXR is just an extension of DX12.

Retail (so mostly consoles - 54% of those are from PS4) UK sales are 50% up from Last Light's. So imagine how much higher digital sales are since retail sales have shrinked quite a bit and digital have grown quite a lot in the 6 years between Last Light and this game. Well done!

PS5 and NeXtBox (Or whatever, I don't know what to call it.) doing ray-tracing on a cut down Navi chip seems unlikely but the streamlined console hardware and system could allow for power to driver their low-level API's into more compute heavy workloads including something like that but I am skeptical.

Would be nice but seems unlikely with AMD not entirely interested in it themselves though with Sony and Microsoft being interested that could change and for Microsoft DX12 and a AMD extension into DXR is one method and then for PS4 and Sony there's likely something akin to Vulkan and extensions.

It does make a huge difference compared to real-time global illumination variants and a compromise or using a pre-rendered high-quality but ultimately very static method (AC Unity.) though I would not expect it as focus is likely going to push GPU power to 4k in various ways and that's going to be costly as is but we'll see.

Hardware familiarity even if we're not doing custom add-on chips and other fun stuff or outright breaking or hacks of how features should work and how they then work in the game could see changes happen too.
(Well of course they will but to what extent and it what form remains to be seen.)

If it's not going to be in the next consoles at launch, I think they will definitely have something in the refresh (PS5 Pro, Xb2 X).

So keep in my mind that the game has a bug that stops you from proceeding forward in game and corrupts saves ( it may happen to you or not ) Reaction

Happened to people playing on hardcore now they have to start over Reaction

I hate that in 2019 the devs have stuck to a stupid autosave system. Not everyone has the time to play the game until the next save that is unreliable

Some people still hang on to their integrity (and wallets - mostly) and are NOT willing to spend fucking 60 Euro to play the game on a featureless pre-alpha platform build exclusively on making money through shit practices.

My PC didn't have a dedicated GPU for several months. After basically not playing games for months I can wait for any game forever now, it doesn't bother me at all Very Happy

And it's not "When, when will they crack denuvo!?Arrrgggh" waiting, no, it's more like "No Isodemo? Whatever. Got other things to do" attitude. Laughing

Some people claimed that it works with a fake address. For example an Indian address (from Google maps).

Stole this one from crackwatch. Fits the situation very well with a huge amount of people refusing to give a dime to Epic (+ the normal bunch of freeloaders).
