For me professional reviews mean less and less. Because:
1. game journos of 2019 are generally very shit gamers, that's fact, and they usually SJW idiots.
2. Reviews are bought by big publishers.
I read various forums to get a grip of what games are like.
I have to admit, I am happy Anthem is failing, it encompasses too many of the things I grew to hate regarding gaming. Especially how low effort and "safe" it is.
ofc. you're totally right but your question was whether or not it was dead already -- hence the screenshot. bc. since this is a big budget AAA title, its survival is to some extent depending on those journos catering to the masses, don't you agree?
getting away with half-arsed lazy shallow online lootpews isn't quite possible anymore.
Ehhhh, I wouldn't go that far. Bethesda especially has caught a ton of bad press, but they are still making money off it. Given what a cheap asset flip it was, they are probably doing fine. Not raking in the amounts they expected, but I seriously doubt they will learn the correct lesson from that.
Bioware on the other hand, they spent, what? Four + years in development for Anthem? With the majority of the Edmonton studio working on it (and I believe some satellite work from Austin and Montreal, at least before the latter was shut down). EA would have sunk a shitton of money in to that, and while I am sure it will be a modest success, they really need a blockbuster to stave off the bean counters looming over their shoulder. But again, whether Bioware gets shut down or not, no real lesson will have been learned.
What are legendary contracts? I did a lot of contracts yesterday, but I got only epics from those.
The purple coloured contracts. Think they are 3 per day. One from each of the factions after you complete their quest line. Matthias/Brin/Yarrow.
Ok, thanks.
I think I did then few yesterday. Didn't notice any MW stuff though. Maybe it requires also certain difficulty level.
Grandmaster 1 for 100% drop. Surprisingly quite easy. Only the Titan bosses take few extra minutes. Was easy grind to get masterwork gear. Luckily got 1 legendary today as well.

Can they be soloed on GM1 or are they grp content?
Did some Freeplay with my Ranger Javelin, to get some initial gear (only played Colossus so far) and finally did some exploring.
Omg is this game sweet for that. People who complain about the game world obviously never went to look a little deeper.
There is tons of stuff to find. And I am not talking World Events, I mean hidden dungeons and stuff. The map is purposely not cluttered with information. It's up to you to find them.
Here "The Vault" near Shadowmark, a small dungeon with some elite bosses inside and an underwater entrance
Doesn't look terrible, doesn't look terribly good either. Utter mediocrity.
Cataclysm in May. Doubt it'll last till then without any "content" for end game. The free-play events are terrible.
How does it take month+ after release to add weekly events? This is so poorly thought.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
You'd think they'd have learned from SWTOR, where people hit the level 50 cap and were complaining about lack of a proper endgame inside the first week. But as I have stated before, the industry is not comprised of learning animals.
it could've sold better if it was a coherent and interesting experience in a well written world. But of course it has to be a list crossing simulator online service. Soulless games like this as just empty shells made for executives, not gamers.
I'm really enjoying it, despite the bugs. Clearly still needs a lot of work and I can understand some of the criticism, but it was never going to be a typical Bioware game. It's a grindy looter shooter, not sure why anyone expected anything else.

what?!?!?! it's not a full fledged single player rpg????? But a technical mess with bland content that wont even last you a month?!?!?!
Yeah, keep taking critics for serious, who played the game half-assed for a couple hours ^^
It's weird when those same game sites give cod etc a 9/10 or better, everybody is at an uproar, how dumb and bad those critics are, but here apparently they are right...

Good that you enjoy it, but don't sell it as people expecting ME games that is causing the criticism. Even for its genre its a pretty poor game.
What is a typical Bioware game these days? Bland, buggy and made by people who don't seem to know how games are supposed to work? :>

hmmm, odd isn't it.
yeah totally no user reviews aswell there that usually contradict the critic reviews. Even more astounding that said critics arent afraid of getting blacklisted by EA and still trashing it
