Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse - 6.5/10

So I finished watching this and while there are a couple of laughs throughout the movie it just feels very adolescent (and made for adolescents). I don't dig the visual style (comic book raster, chromatic abhorrence, claymation style fps on characters but not on everything else and so on).

As I booked tickets for Glass I decided to rewatch Unbreakable since I’ve only seen it once and probably NINETEEN years ago lol. And then watch Split which I’d never seen.

Unbreakable (2000) - 8/10
The best of the trilogy in my opinion. Entertaining and thought provoking with a typically great Shyamalan twist. Can’t believe how young Bruce Willis looked either lol, although it had been almost two decades which is also hard to believe.

Split (2016) - 6/10
Not as good as expected and the worst of the trilogy. McAvoy’s acting and various personalities are impressive but the rest of it was a disappointment.

Glass (2019) - 7/10
Again not as good as expected, a bit dumb but I was entertained throughout, integrating the previous two movies was well done and everything is wrapped up fairly nicely.

May the NFOrce be with you always.

Well it was weird. Me like it. Also some nice shots of Tessa's Thompson ass. Me like it.

Into The Night 1985: 8/10
Strong 80's, enjoyable dark comedy/thriller.
Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Pfieffer and small cameo from David Bowie.

What Keeps You Alive 2018: 8/10

Good horror movie, I'm surprised i missed this one at release and there wasn't more buzz around it.

It was great. Very Happy I wouldn't give it Oscar though.

Watched a lot of older low budget movies this weekend. Very Happy

Cyberzone (1995) 2/10
Well it was sci-fi, but oh man was it bad. Laughing

Crime zone (1989) 6,5/10
Hmmm, wasn't all that bad, had a bit Bonnie and Clyde feeling to it. Sherilyn Fenn looked hot.

Cybejack (1995) 5/10
Die Hard rip-off much? Laughing

Metalstorm (1983) 4/10
Aaah more post-apocalyptic low budget action with poor acting. Very Happy

Futuresport (1998) 3/10
Rip-off of Rollerball, but I enjoyed Rollerball more.

Budapest (2018) 5/10
Typical french comedy, lot of awkward moments and plenty of nudity.

Room - 8/10

A quite painful and humane tale about ransom and the possibility of raising someone in that environment. Humanity and its wonder, its suffering, its evilness very well represented. Everything's perfect except the inflicted tone by the soundtrack, but that's a minor thing. Recommended!

Polar - 7/10

If you don't expect too much from it it's a nice beer + popcorn movie. Mikkelsen is always "fun" in his own way. A decent action movies with plenty of kills.

EDIT: fixed the name

Ehm, not what I thought it would be. It said Scifi as genre. This is more for YA females and pretty boring.

I was surprised how good it was. Marky Mark was ok and Rose Byrne plays the same kind of role she had in Neighbors, but it still works here in my opinion.

The Favourite 7.5/10

This was... a strange beast Smile No idea why it's classified as a comedy. It has some weird and funny moments, sure, but I don't see it as a comedy at all, especially with the end in mind. I guess it's about as funny as The Lobster Razz
The acting was great all around, and the oscar deserved (it should count for all leads, really, not just Olivia Colman).
In all of the extreme wideshots, you could see the edge of the lense in both the left corners, which bothered me immensely Very Happy
