ah, i remembered the first time i did that
I didn´t know that it killed them, so all of a sudden i heard screaming, but i had no idea where it came from |
yeah, me too
i guess they intentionally made it so you had to learn the negative effects of the fields first hand. Or perhaps it was because i first played NOD and they didnt mind all the evil things, as you also could kill civilians and whatnot, which you couldnt as GDI

it woudl seriously rule, if they had pimped up the grafix of the games too. Anybody thinks, that they did some retexturing to fit the new millenium?

some info regarding the new C&C pack.
All games come with the latest patches pre-applied.
Includes poster
Bonus DVD including behind-the-scenes and making-of clips, fan videos (*cough* - HeXetic), interviews, concept art, etc.
Movie resolution will not be upped. Movies and art (including music) are not being re-mastered.
Game resolution for the older games will not be upped. C&C and RA will still run at 640x400/480.
Louis said all the games will work on "modern computers"; did not elaborate further.
No explicit mention of whether the original C&C and Red Alert will have functioning LAN play. When asked about IPX/SPX support, he said that Red Alert 2, Yuri's Revenge, and Tiberian Sun "all required IPX to work, actually, uh, so, they're updated to work with the XP version, so you will be able to play all those products."
Overall, the intent is to "re-create" the original experience rather than expand upon it.

Let us know if DirectIP and LAN function in the original C&C and Red Alert please. Would be awesome to hook up some matches, as I only ever got to play the singleplayer on them, but what fun it was
We should get some NForce matches going or something, would be cool.
Westwood is dead as you know, so in reality, EA is just milking a wonderful product brought to you by developers that far surpass anything EA will ever own or lay their hands on, ever. Here's to all those wonderful bastards that were Westwood. You guys made history

well, ea assimilated westwood, a large part of westwood´s developers are working for ea now, and theyre still the ones creating the c&c games, only under a different label and with more time pressure, low pay and sweatshop conditions.

this came out yesterday in canada, wednesday.. and i can't get multiplayer to work in the original C&C... looks like only ipx shit is supported
Also it is one DVD, but 9 #%$%ing gigs to install all of them!
I was pissed because the first C&C was still over a gig, how the hell is that the case.

Do you have to install ALL OF 'EM????????...or you can choose the only ones you want to?..coz that would be REAL PAIN IN THE @$$...Windows XP Support yo?..and how r the Special DVD Bonus contents?..i mean the Tribute Videos X3...
Big question then: If the DVD is 9GB...how in da hell are we going to burn it up?????..

but you still can tunnel that protocoll to your liking as much as you want, so where is the problem. There are even easy programs to give you a lan-over-internet interface to battle it out with friends. It would be massively cooler if they had set up an ingame browser and master-server and shit though, but as far as i see it, its only a money-grab action anyways. I still like it though as most of my originals have gone missing by lending em to friends and i wouldnt mind having all of em back in one back really. Only problem i see is, that the games are crippled by censorship in germany, so i have to get an illegal version anyways

Yes, you can choose what games to install, the annoying thing when you install is the 6 diffrent cdkey you have to put it.
I've tried most of the games, and its what you expect from C&C they rock. But i can't get RA2 to work online, just get a timeout error from westwood online.
People are even playing Renegade online, 340 people playing right now, its not the best game in the world but its pretty fun anyways, definatly worth the 299SEK it costs.

man! I thought the release will be all in 1... which means, you GET all in 1 game.... you have a mix campaign from everygame in 1 launch.... you have other heroes from other series.. and so on... man,
wouldnt that be cool if it is....
