seems like the announcement is gonna be soon so i am creating this thread

Not much is known so far , but its developer revealed on Twitter that "Shiny Red Something" will be the spiritual successor to "the third one."

Shiny Red Something, which will likely get a catchier name before its release, is to be developed for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Some quotes from twitterhttps://twitter.com/3FieldsEnt
Quote:
What sort of driving game you ask? A spiritual successor. Speed. Traffic. And Crashing. Lots and lots of crashing. #ShinyRedSomething

Quote:
The word of the day is....Co-Op Play, online and offline.

Will update the OP when the reveal happens

Quote:
Burnout director Alex Ward announced the news via his Twitter this morning, to a hugely positive response from fans.

Ward, along with fellow Criterion alumni Fiona Sperry, now work at indie breakaway Three Fields Entertainment.

Dangerous Golf, the first game from their new studio, was clearly Burnout-influenced. It was a re-imagining of the series' fan-favourite crash mode rebuilt as an explosive indoor sport.

The game comes recommended - "Pared back and wonderfully focused, Dangerous Golf brings the spirit of Burnout indoors," Chris Donlan wrote in Eurogamer's Dangerous Golf review - but it failed to make much of a sales impact.

There has been a huge appetite among fans for a new Burnout game ever since the last major release in the series, Burnout Paradise, which launched all the way back in 2008.

EA still owns the Burnout name, and despite publishing Criterion-developed Need for Speed entries which attempted to cater to the Burnout audience, it has not seemed interest in reviving the classic brand.

Whatever Three Fields Entertainment builds next will not be able to have the Burnout name, but it has the team behind it to become a spiritual successor.

Seems like we are finally getting the name of it after all these years (probably eurogamer pushed article too soon)

Quote:
Dangerous Driving is a closed track competitive racing game featuring boost, takedowns, destruction and the biggest car crashes seen in a racing game to date.

"We're taking all that we've learnt to develop our most ambitious title to date," Ward said of Dangerous Driving. "Dangerous Driving gets me back to making arcade racing, the kind of software I am most passionate about."

The game will be released in Winter 2018 for PlayStation4, Xbox One and PC.

More information will be revealed over the coming weeks and months.

This looks like Danger Zone 2 with multiple modes.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

If only this game would have good car crash effects, it would be probably fun... Laughing Looks so underwhelming, car has like 1 way to deform, even original Burnout from 18 years ago had more complex shit than this ? Reaction

Firstly I'm not here, on this occasion, to enter into a debate about this subject. But I will make one statement about it to explain our position. We are in the midst of finalling the game, heads down, and that needs to be our focus. Please respect that.

What I will say is this - we have been partners with Epic Games for several years now. They have supported us when few others did. So when we found out in December they were doing a Store we wanted to support them. I believe in them as a company and their vision to create a great store - but remembering that Rome was not built in a day.

We have published all our games to date on Steam but quite frankly it is not a platform that has returned us ANY profit in that time. If Steam was a profitable platform for us with a large enough fan base we would be there but its an extremely crowded market where its near impossible to get any visibility. and Steam offers no marketing support to people like us.

We appreciate the support we have had from the small numbers of people who have bought our games on Steam and we are sorry to disappoint them that Dangerous Driving will not be on Steam - but there are simply not enough of you to make it a viable market for us at the moment. If as many people bought our games on Steam as have taken to the Internet to complain that Dangerous Driving isn't coming to Steam maybe we would be in a very different place right now!!

You can say - oh well its not just about the money. I know that - Alex and I have barely taken any salary for 5 years.

We are a small team dedicated to making as good a game as we can. I won't apologise if we occasionally get defensive or struggle to take the feedback. Its always hard to hear your game looks like a mobile game etc etc. But we do take on board a lot of what we hear and read but ultimately we have to make our game our way. Thank you for everyone who has supported us - particularly our families who have all had to tighten their belts the last few years. The support really means a lot.

We feel really good about the game we have made, we are enjoying the process of finishing it. We're sorry we've disappointed some of you by going on the Epic Store but that decision will not be changing.

Thanks for listening.

What a bunch of retards on that Reddit. Is Epic paying all these people to pretend Steam is a monopoly and all this other bullshit or do these fucking morons actually do it for free? They're fucking everywhere with their "so entitled" "Steam monopoly" shit.

LMAO Very Happy

Quote:
Dangerous Driving, the game lacks a traditional soundtrack. Instead, Dangerous Driving allows Spotify integration. ]It isn’t available to all, however. Only Spotify Premium subscribers are able to utilize the feature. According to an FAQ on the game’s website, “We have long believed that racing games shouldn’t have just one soundtrack. Music, especially the music you drive to, is incredibly personal – and changes based on your mood. It would be hard to have just one soundtrack that suited all players in all those moments. (Even if it was possible it would be beyond the budget of an independent developer.)”
The developer Three Fields Entertainment has also provided a playlist in Spotify named “Three Fields” including its ideal songs for the game.

Despite being the sole way to play music in the game, Dangerous Driving doesn’t appear to have smoothly implemented the Spotify integration as of yet. The FAQ states that, in the game’s audio menu, players can turn on the feature and then control it within the game. However, the very next paragraph states, “Currently you’ll need to go out to the Spotify app on the device you’re playing on e.g. PlayStation4 or Xbox / PC to choose the playlist but this is something that we hope to integrate even further in the future.”

Quote:
f you’re playing on a computer, the problems don’t end there. Dangerous Driving is currently an Epic Games Store exclusive title. This usually wouldn’t impact a review in any way, but the client’s lack of features makes this PC release strictly inferior to its console counterparts. Since the EGS currently doesn’t have achievement support, neither does Dangerous Driving. This is excusable, but the additional lack of online leaderboards is the real bummer. Not being able to compete with friends for bragging rights is killer in a single player experience all about speed. In a game this barebones, the lack of these features really stands out.

so much for "Epic's moneyhat gives the poor devs more money to improve the games" narrative
