They'll have to do some proper anti consumer shit for me not to pre order this. Well, i'll just cancel my pre order if anything changes. I want to signal the fucks higher up that this is the kind of games i want and the right attitude to have about them (no microtransactions etc) |
You can signal that by buying the game in the end. FUCK PREORDERS!
Only do this if you want pre-order nonsense for the games you want

Well, i think we both know that it'll look good, or at least interesting when we know more. But yes, i won't preorder before i know anything.

The best part about these games by a long shot were the cinematics and story, which were very engaging and miles better than the new trilogy.
Seems like they hint a Dodge/parry system for the lightsaber combat which could be a little more complex than that of the Force Unleashed (not hard to achieve ). |
My thoughts exactly, TFU1 wasn't a terrible attempt per se, it just came off as simplistic and a major step back when compared to the core gameplay of Jedi Knight 2 and Jedi Academy in terms of combat, variety and level design.
Being built with the gamepad in mind had a lot to do with that unfortunately, along with the idea of tailoring it to the lowest common denominator (which never helps really ). I had the pleasure of replaying JK2 some time ago, the first thing that stood out (again) was the complete lack of handholding throughout the maps, which coupled with the 100% focus on gameplay and multiple approaches could grant a plethora of satisfying and diverse Jedi moments.

Time for the annual Jedi Outcast playthrough ! (Never liked JKA solo campaign nearly as much, the levels weren't quite as inspired as JKO, which I absolutely loved)
It'll always remain one of my fondest gaming memories, I had high expectations which were perfectly met

Opening to the public shit like those tweets helps enlarging even more this absurd bubble that seems to grow thanks to a bunch of frustrated characters that post their shit on the web.
So yea, you-tubers. go ahead and contribute by making EVEN MORE POPULAR such nonsensical bullshit. Give them attention, give them energy, complain, make a fucking better world doing this...
But hey... as long as pointless comments flow, the 'likes' increase and money flows from YT, who gives a REAL shit, isn't it?!

So your solution is no opposition? Ignoring this won't make it go away because these people won't stop. If nobody counters the bullshit spewed by media, the latter's power over information will only grow stronger. |
Depends on what you mean by "opposition".
Also, quoting some idiots that have 3 followers and 4 likes as a 'general people's opinion' is beyond being professional and valid. This is a subtle migration towards sensationalism and gathering "wows" and reactions / responses. Mainly: clickbait, bits and pieces of content that are irrelevant but incite to arguments and pro / contra discussions.
And this is exactly what these so-called you-tubers are after. Grand titles, clickbait topics, extreme opinions - that ALL generate their income. This is also disgusting. Because there is no FILTERING, there is only the race for clicks. But... it's no surprise here, as we all know that a big part of YT / internet is full of trash. PURE trash. How do you counter THIS(?), as this is the main issue!
[I can give you a response: by IGNORING it and not responding!]
But of course, the EGO is too strong so we all need to yell: YOU ARE A FUCKING MORON, YOU ARE WRONG! - boy that felt good, didn't it?!
Also about countering:
YES, counter the shit out of those, of course! But counter those that are WORTH countering, those that come with valid support, proper arguments and even hard-to-counter opinions. Don't gather all the frustrated persons that vent over subjects that they have NO background on or about the gaming industry!
Tell me this:
HOW THE FUCK every single person that gets triggered by some fact, with no background in game development / game industry is now a fucking expert that needs to be taken in consideration?! Suddenly every Joe's opinion is a valuable one. Now THIS is the main issue.
Everyone is an expert in everything nowadays... And it sounds like the whole fucking planet turned into Romania, where everyone knows about everything.

Well, some of the people mentioned in the video above are randoms from the internet. But this is not true for all of them. A couple of journalists were mentioned and even an article from PC Gamer if I remember correctly. It's not even the first time something like this happens. A while back a review for RDR2 complained about the white male protagonist.

The issue is that the constant and sterile frontal opposition between the two sides of the argument only fuels each side all the more.
I believe most people don't give a rat's ass about this, but there's always a risk of propagation when it infiltrates scholarly fields.
Not easy to know wtf to do against this, but I'm pretty sure we don't have to echo every crazy rambling here - it devolves into identical conversations every time, without fail :/
