After a devastating war between the mightiest ancient mages, the Driftland has become shattered planet and only held together by a powerful magic. In the face of the destruction of an entire civilization and life on the planet, warring parties decided to call a truce and try to repair the damage. It was too late. They had to use all remaining magic resources to cast a powerful spell that only keeps the world in balance. After many dark ages, there shined a spark of hope. New sources of magic appeared, and the whole planet began to give birth to new mages. Along with the magic, the old conflict also resurfaced…
The player becomes a mage overlord with his own castle, tower, and a small realm on one of the islands. His task is to explore the procedurally generated world and expand his kingdom by adjoining more and more islands together. Gameplay focus on giving out major orders and setting goals, instead of micromanagement of each unit. Classical representatives of fantasy genre, such as warriors, archers and mages, are able to tame and ride different types of flying beasts, resulting in unique combinations.

Driftland: The Magic Revival will be making its way to Early Access later this year for PC and Mac.
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
“We estimate the duration of Early Access at 6 to 12 months. 6 months is the time that we have planned to complete the game development, but as we want players and their feedback to have an important impact on the decision to move to the final version of the game, the time may be reasonably longer.
During the entire Early Access, we will keep you informed and provide you with regular updates, so you will always know at what stage of our development plan we currently are.”
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
“Two playable races and procedurally generated maps versus AI (including hostile Barbarians) will be available from the very launch of Early Access.
For months to come, the game will undergo many changes. We are going to continue working on features that will be available from the beginning and add new ones. In addition to many minor features, the main elements to be added are:
two remaining races,
four intertwining campaigns (one for each race)
multiplayer mode.”
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
“Our Early Access players will enjoy procedurally generated single player maps with two playable races. The current version of this mode is ready for playtesting and additional features and modes will soon follow.”
