okay so ASHEN is on sale and i am tempted... (€ 10 @RU store)
however when i try to login to my account with a Putin Proxy i get the error message:

When you sign up, select Russia and then purchase. Don't think you can purchase from other regions.

becuase of how the sale mechanics are messy in some regions (aka 60$ preorder being under 10$ in some regions) and they would undermine sales on their own store
Klei's game is gone becuase they are launching from EA soon , and this would totally fuck up their alunch window |

I thought this is interesting enough to warrant it's own thread.
Can't find any english sources yet, so here's a russian one, one of the most popular local gaming sites. Galyonkin is in the comments.
Basically, the game was too cheap in certain regions all things considered (like less than right bucks in Russia for example), and Paradox confirms it's their decision to remove it from sale on EGS entirely until the end of the Epic Mega Sale.
Galyonkin (Epic employee) claims the publisher knew everything about the sale beforehand. So it seems like a complete 180 from Paradox themselves.
Everyone who preprdered it for cheap will still receive the game when it releases. Epic will compensate the publisher on the terms agreed prior. |
This pre-order thingy, exclusive or not, is getting silly. It was recently announced, it won't be released for nearly a year.

Got Phoenix Point for 9 USD (currently residing abroad), that seemed too good to pass on, but god only knows when that'll be finished.. (plus, there seems to be some confusion regarding these sales, so wouldn't be surprised if they send me a Dear John letter and pull it back).
Since the Heavy Rain, Detroit and Observation are only about $10 a piece, I'll definitely consider those as well, plus Control and Sinking City look tempting at $18 (though I disliked Quantum Break, TBH).
I'm only looking forward to Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, though. They don't seem to be announcing any release dates or progress updates. Probably waiting for the sale to pass

I don't think you can use a VPN to buy from cheaper regions and not get banned. (or at least risk getting a ban). I tried to find if someone tried buying via VPN but I haven't run into any info.

Bought Hades for $7 and it's fantastic. I am not a fan of Epic games or their launcher, but they had some great prices. Also picked up John Wick Hex as I love turn-based strategy games.
