Ye, just download some small sized game and start it. Only needs to start a game and then quit it. And I had Terraria for 2 boxes. Only annoyance was to install DotA 2 for a trophy. Oh got Space Engineers to play for the "Recommended by a Friend Game" trophy but I don't have the game and am not planning to buy it. Hopefully the game for that trophy changes in the next 3 days. Not that I need it to finish the Level 3 Badge anyway.

When do those tasks reset? Doesn't seem to mention anywhere... or maybe I'm blind.

It's the latter from what I can tell, just some knick-knacks and chores for the XPeen. The items can be sold, but they're not worth anything really (as per usual) |

Should reset at 10am Pacific every day so 24 hours after it started like every other one of these Steam events they do with daily logins needed.

It's not even an xp badge so far. Only some backgrounds and other shit that's sold for less than 0.03 euros... So for the 4 days that will be 7 items and 0.07 "profit" after the deduction.  |
There is a badge, it gives 100xp for each level.
Also, you get 2 "rares" if you complete 15 tasks. I'm hoping a rare means a $60 game or something

Same here. I guess Steam don't want to give away rare stuff after all and they're scrambling to give us more 10% rebates before allowing anyone to finish their little "game".
