May 9th I think and then a timed quest a bit after around May 17th.
Used to be a mod that just altered some scripts and you could run these timed events whenever but Capcom forced it's removal so it's these set dates and then the Spring and Winter themed festivities were all old events run during the week-long "celebration" usually also used to promote some other paid DLC like whatever they forced the handler to wear this time.
From Thursday, May 9 00:00 UTC, we'll be releasing the sixth title update, which will include various bug fixes, as well as a special collaboration with "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" (Developer: CD PROJEKT RED)!
Major New Features:
In this collaboration, the main protagonist of the Witcher series, Geralt of Rivia, makes an appearance in the New World! A unique quest featuring RPG elements from "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" brings a fresh gameplay experience, with newly recorded voiceovers by the original voice actor for Geralt! (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese and Monster Hunter Language)
Leshen, a monster from another world, arrives in the New World!
Dwelling deep within the forest, these creatures use their innate magic to control all flora and fauna within their territory.
Special Assignment — Contract: Trouble in the Ancient Forest
・Play as Geralt of Rivia and take on a new special assignment! Go on a quest containing RPG elements from "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," and solve mysteries as an expert monster slayer for hire!
・The ending of the quest will depend on your progression through the side objectives!
・Complete the special assignment to earn a special item and gesture, a new guild card background, as well as poses and titles.
・You can also earn materials to craft the "Geralt α" full armor set and the "Witcher's Silver Sword" sword & shield! Furthermore, completing special objectives will earn you a critical bounty that, if completed, allows you to get the materials needed to craft the "Cursed Staff α" weapon, and the "Nekker α" full armor set for your Palico when completed!
・Special assignment "Contract: Trouble in the Ancient Forest" is a single player only quest where you get to play as Geralt of Rivia.
Note: This special assignment will always be available.
Event Quest (From May 17) — Contract: Woodland Spirit
・The difficulty for this quest is similar to Death March! difficulty in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
・Complete the quest to earn materials to craft the "Ciri α" full armor set and the "Zireael" dual blades, as well as earn delivery requests that allow you to get the materials needed for the Geralt Layered Armor and Ciri Layered Armor.
・Any bugs related to this quest on other platforms have already been fixed for Steam.
Note: This quest is available from Friday, May 17 00:00 to Thursday, May 30 23:59 UTC.
Ah ok.. well i hate timed events, such a stupid thing imo.. i can have weeks or months where i don't feel like playing or i prefer some other game.
Don't like that stuff either, but it's not too bad. Played on console for quite some time and every timed event returned regularly, and every time there's a big seasonal event, all the previous timed stuff was available.
Loved the game btw, looking forward to the expansion.

First time ever watching monster hunter bro? The silly oversized weapons are probably not as realistic as the monster ikr!
“We know that the title updates for console have taken a while to reach PC, which is something that a lot of PC players have given us feedback about,” Tsujimoto says. “We’re going to try and see if we can work out something better for that schedule and see how we can make improvements. Don’t feel like you’ve haven’t been heard, but we’re not quite ready to announce specifics just yet.”
“We’ve heard a lot of feedback from PC players. We have currently announced that Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is going to hit PC this winter and we’ll have further updates as soon as we can get them to you,” Tsujimoto says. “We know PC players want it as soon as possible and we’re trying to minimize that gap.”
Notice Regarding Known Bugs
Known issues in Ver. 10.12.00.
The following bugs have been discovered in the Ver. 10.12.00 released on Thursday, January 9 17:00 UTC. We are currently working on a patch to fix these issues.
1. Slight display lag while DirectX12 API is enabled.
Issue:
Depending on your PC settings, your screen may lag 0.1 to 1 seconds with the DirectX12 API setting enabled.
Condition in which the issue occurs:
- Graphics Option "DirectX12 API" is enabled.
- PCs with slower CPU speed.
2. Certain graphics cards may cause the screen to freeze.
Issue:
Depending on your PC settings, the game screen may freeze randomly. The duration in which your screen may freeze could vary from 1 to 5 seconds. Although it is rare that this occurrs, it may happen more frequently with certain PC settings.
Condition in which the issue occurs:
- "DirectX12 API" is disabled (DirectX11).
- More likely to occur on NVIDIA® GeForce® GPU, with VRAM below 3GB.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and appreciate your patience while we sort out these issues. Please wait for more info on the fixes.
Important:
Matchmaking in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne requires players to have updated to the same version. Keep in mind that you can only match with other players who have the same update. You can verify the version number in the bottom-right corner of the title screen.

A couple of new settings were also added such as a new level for anisotropic filtering (x16 I guess instead of x8 then?) plus additions like AMD CAS, NVIDIA DLSS and capsule ambient occlusion so framerate might be worse and it sounds like this is working the CPU even harder now though due to a bug or something the game might still do that thing were it spawns a lot of threads that just don't add anything other than more CPU workload.
D3D12 might be causing a crash on AMD 19.12.2/19.12.3 although it could just be the current ongoing possible Navi GPU issues and yeah there's a few known issues.
Next title update will be out January 19th and should see the first of the three current console packs since Iceborne released and I think the roadmap plans was to catch up content wise in time for mid to late February.
Overall there's more content the game data was quite overhauled and everybody gets the new data (Big update, bigger still with the optional texture pack added in.) and there's some fucky stuff so it might crash, black screen or just bug out a bit but a patch is coming in a few weeks maybe that'll resolve it.
Seems the exe also grew a bit (200 MB or so. ) so I assume a newer Denuvo was added in just because. (ALL the padding!)
I'm assuming, the way this is setup, CreamAPI has no shot at working with this?
It actually works (I'm using the dlc unlocker from rin though) Iceborne is the same as any other DLC so the data is always in the client and you just have to unlock it so you get it for free if you own the basegame

Thank god I checked this forum randomly before jumping on Steam. I already bought this shit on PS4 (where the playercount at low level is just dead).
And yes. . .the Monster Hunts I did on console for IB were far and away better than majority of base content.
EDIT: Well hell I can't get this running. I'm using the Tampermonkey method of dumping the DLC list from SteamDB into a CreamAPI and things just quits back to desktop.

by the sound of it, you're using creamapi which won't happen. the dll is crc checked by the base game.
on page 95 of that clusterfuck thread you can find a really weird workaround which might work if you adjust the appid to its real and your steam userid.
i haven't personally tested this so your mileage may vary, but i assume that is what tet666 is actually doing.
all i know is this shit is eating the last 20gb on my ssd so i'll be fucking damned if i pay for it
