What a boring, scripted, uninspired piece of shit.
And it'll sell like hotcakes...

It does have a very strong designed by committee feeling, that much is true.
But at the same time, it does look fun.

Whatever committee agreed on that Wookiee design have clearly never watched a fucking Star Wars movie. Even Lumpy in the Holiday Special didn't look that bad.

The imperial walker explosions part reminded me a bit of Dark Souls.

It's not looking bad. And this comes from someone who has 0 interest in the Star Wars stuff.

Nothing explains the actual combat mechanics - can you manually block, do you get to choose the moves, do moves happen depending on your positioning.. or is it all totally prerendered shite that once initiated, you have to wait for the animation to stop before you can do anything else...

We're in 2019 - if I were a betting man I'd bet what paltry little I own, as well as my prized testicles on it being the last option.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

I was thinking the exact same during that scene. What are those helmets for if you pass out that easily? For looks? They were so big even Dark Helmet would have been proud of them.

Alas, the character was designed to match and boost the power fantasy of any teenager who approaches the franchise for the first/second time (with all that it entails). Let's hope Avellone can keep the writing tolerable to us, old but verycool dinosaurs.
I personally didn't like the scripted cine-babysouls gameplay either, though the idea that the full game will actually have some sort of exploration at least makes me curious for when I'll have to preorder the isodemo.

Origin with the D though, so I guess we are all fucking then. At least for 3 or 4 months at any rate.

Why wouldn't it? They know the star wars fanbois will spend money on it no matter what, so might as well as make it with a younger audience in mind that will like this kind of stuff.
Wouldn't wait for anything more elaborate than this as long as the black hole of creativity known as EA holds the license. If you mens are waiting for something like KOTOR3, well, it's probably not coming anytime soon

That is ridiculous, so it fits perfectly in the SW universe IMO.

^ You are missing a point:
Absolutely ridiculous is the new believable amongst EA's (or other AAA dev's) "creative minds".
