I 'm running 2 PCs behind a SMC 7904BRA Router.
I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2 with Kaspersky antivirus pro (latest), Netlimiter 2.0.6 with Firewall, also I use Lavasoft Ad-Aware Pro and Spybot S&D.
Am I (enough) safe?, or do you guys recommend other better software?
My major doubt is if Kaspersky Pro built-in firewall is good enough?

NOD32 as antivirus and Agnitum Outpost as Firewall.

And to be extra sure I suggest Counterspy v1.5.82 or Spy Sweeper v4.5 ,both very good antispyware software.
I personally use Tiny Desktop Firewall 2005 Pro and Avast! antivirus and I'm really satisfied (especially with Avast!).

I use a program called Process Guard that lets me control which programs/processes are authorized to read/modify other apps/processes.

I love these threads, I dont run ANY security software, and I never get hit by anything. The key to remaining virus, spyware and hacker free is to use your brain rather than using hoards of software!

I do run a firewall because every pice of software wants to connect here, register there nowerdays and i really hate all this homecalling crap.

exactly. I use nod32 but I rarely ever get a warning except on the vietcong2 crack and some websites.
Quite a lot of installers dial to the internet now so depending who / where you are it might be good to install a firewall like zone alarm pro though. |
