Rami Malek is now in final negotiations to star in the upcoming James Bond film, which will be Daniel Craig’s fifth outing as 007. He will play the film’s main villain, who is believed to have roots in North Africa, due to both his Egyptian heritage and that of the previous actor in talks for the role, Said Taghmaoui, who is Moroccan.

The film’s casting was fully announced though. Returnees include Craig as James Bond, Lea Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, Ralph Fiennes as M, Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Rory Kinnear as Bill Tanner and surprisingly Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter.
Joining them in this outing is Rami Malek (“Bohemian Rhapsody”) as the villain along with Lashana Lynch (“Captain Marvel”), Billy Magnussen (“Game Night”), David Dencik (“Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”), Ana De Armas (“Blade Runner 2049”) and Dali Benssalah (“Nox”).
Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Scott Z. Burns and Phoebe Waller-Bridge have also been confirmed as the film’s writers.
Filming will take place in Norway, Jamaica, Matera in Italy and at the franchise’s home at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom with the movie set to open April 8th 2020. |

Looks like Italy is back on the menu for Mr Bond. I still remember when they shot Quantum of Solace near my old apartment, it was fun seeing the stuntmen run through the roofs like modern Ezios. Too bad the scene ended up being nowhere near as good as it should have been   (like the rest of the movie after all).
Here's hoping they can finally come up with a package that works in its entirety, although not even Fuku's sophisticated expectation-o-meter can pick up a decent signal. Fingers crossed though!

I can't stand the Daniel Craig-gen bond movies. It's mostly over-boiled hard-core action with none of the charm of the earlier movies. But that's me.

Yep his movies have been terrible (nothing to do with Craig's capability), Casino Royale was okay > even then I feel they were inspired by the Borne series. The trend for his era as bond and these films was to base everything in reality as much possible, just don't feel it works for this franchise I want over the top characters and smart ass bond back.
highly unlikely that will ever happen in todays politically correct climate.

People really make such a big deal out of nothing. Who cares if they call her 007, she will either die saving Bond and James Bond will retake his number when he comes out of retirement in this film or they will just have her die at the start of the next one and that new James Bond actor will retake his license to kill as 007. It is not like she is becoming the new franchise lead and James Bond will be gone forever.

The worst part about it all is the fact it's another 007 movie with Craig...
But it's Fukunaga and so many conflicting feels.

There's only been one 007, and that's Bond. She's clearly not Bond.
There are other numbers being mentioned through the series, hence the question.
