Ended up ordering Ryzen 5 3600, Gigabyte X570 Gaming, 2x8 3200 CL16 VENGEANCE LPX, Corsair CX650M, Samsung SSD 500G 860 EVO, Sapphire RX 590 NITRO+ 8G GDDR5 - Special Edition.
I hope they got everything in stock.
As i said i am a serious noob that never had a gaming PC so I'm fucking excited to get it ASAP!
I have some questions I'd be happy to know.. RX 590 page says it's needs a 500 watt system, so i guess 650w i order should be enough?
And more important.. what about cooling?
R5 3600 comes with its own cooling, also RX 590 NITRO also comes with its own cooling, is it enough?
I'm going to play on 1080p, and lets say i don't add more cooling.. what could happen?
Thanks mates going to be a blast hanging around here and PC area

The cooling is enough, granted your case also has a few fans. But the Nitro is a really good cooler and the Ryzen Coolers are equally sufficient.
650W PSU will be plenty enough for that system.
The rest is alright I guess. For the price of that specific GPU, I'd have gotten a Vega56 for around 250€. Depends of course where you ordering.

So, I installed the 3700x, using it with the Asrock x470 Taichi. Working as intended, though single core boost is stuck ay 4372Mhz. Idle voltages normal. I've run cinebench, almost four times as fast as a 3570K at 4.4Ghz with multi. OK nice, no more time to benchmark so I fire up Kingdom Come to check how that runs now.
And WTF, I am amazed I knew my 3570 was having trouble, but this is incredible. From 28-49fps (peaks to 60) in Rattay, now I get a rock steady 60fps on medium/high settings. So I check the settings, surely something must be wrong. Nope, still the same. I've set it to the "very high" preset, still 60fps in Rattay. How can the CPU have so much impact? So 2500k/3570k is enough for gaming these days? NO FU! This is with a 1080 OC btw. I know this game is a coding clusterfuck, but I find it amazing.

Gigabyte removes PCIe 4.0 support on all AMD motherboards that are not X570
Quote: | There has been said and written a lot about PCIe Gen 4.0 support on Series 300 and 400 chipset based motherboards from AMD.
One of the first companies that created a viral in an effort to draw attention was Gigabyte, who introduced a Firmware BIOS switch in their X470 motherboards allowing you to enable PCIe Gen 4.0 (partially). Once that happened a lot of motherboard manufacturers felt obligated to follow. Meanwhile, AMD has been stating that non-500 series motherboards will not get PCIe Gen 4.0 support.
Check out what is happening at the support pages of Gigabyte, they are now removing PCIe Gen 4.0 support from their products starting with the new AGESA 1.0.0.3 ABB BIOS update. Bios version F42a and later is specifically removing support. Gigabyte is listing the withdrawal of the feature with chipsets from X370 and X470 to B350, B450, and A320.
As to why support is removed is not explained but we're sure that purchasers of a Gigabyte motherboard will not be happy about this and in the future move towards another brand. |

Theses boards were not specced for PCIe 4.0. AMD made it clear from the beginning, they would not support PCIe 4.0 on older chipsets. I, as an owner of a Gigabyte X370 board, do not give a fuck and will certainly not move to another brand. (but wait for a bios hack to try this shit out anyway)

My advice would be: save up a few more months just so you have a little bit more wiggle room.

Thanks for your reply! Was looking for these on audio-related forums and they seem to be faulty for my specific PCI audio interface, not to count the height bump and misplaced connectors. Legacy PCI mobo ports, even if emulated through the PCIe bridge, seem more reliable. That's why I'm looking for a mobo with that specific perk.
@Areius upgrading the soundcard would be quite expensive. There's a huge gap between cheap, high-quality AD DA converters, reliable PCI interfaces and their USB counterparts.
@Morphineus I could save a little more yes, but I'm awaiting for an upgrade since early 2018 and the i5 9400F has the same (if not a tad bit better) benchmarks as the i5 8400 for single-threaded apps like audio sequencers, which is highly regarded for price/quality in the audio producers world. Also, the PCI interface appears in 2018 mobos which can be bios-updated to support Gen9... no new 2019 mobo supports it apparently. Is there a newer release with a nice bump coming?

at first I was like ok, so CL16 is ~440eur and CL15 is ~470eur
then I saw that the CL15 is a 64GB kit
whoa
I might just buy that and use only 2 sticks

The 3600/Cl16 is still faster than the 3000/Cl15. Look up what a 32GB kit of 3000/Cl15 costs.
edit: the 3600/Cl16 kit uses Samsung b-die chips, the other one probably not, thats why its cheaper and slower.

I see the problem
they claim those CL15 are 3600, when in fact they should be 3000
that's why it's "so cheap"

I am unable to find a:
2x16GB
3600MHz
16CL
B-Die
kit
it appears there is a unicorn in the RAM domain
this is the closest thing, but it's not B-Die

@couleur I browsed through those sites
there are no 2x16 3600 cl16 kits there
which seems incomplete, as I clearly found at least 1 from the pic above
edit: or maybe those lists only have b-die sticks
edit2: it would appear that THAT corsair kit is the only 3600CL16 2x16 in existance?!
edit3: and it's out of stock everywhere

@StrEagle Honestly the difference between 3600/cl16 and 3600/cl17 is marginal and you could probably tweak them a bit.
