The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

I'm trying to keep my expectations low when it comes to The Outer Worlds. While it looks like a quirky mix between Fallout and Bioshock it won't get close to the scale of those games. The animations of the NPC's are rather stiff for instance. We'll see. I believe the developers even said that we shouldn't expect something like Bioshock in space; it's a smaller game with lots of humor.
There is currently a deal with Microsoft Game Pass Ultimate where you get 2 months for $2 and it ends up converting any existing Xbox Live or regular Game Pass time you might have into Game Pass Ultimate time by adding the 2 totals together for the amount of time added with a max allowed of 3 years total.
Depending on how ambitious you are, you could end up taking advantage of the current Gears 5 Rockstar Walmart promotion that makes every can of the Gears 5 Rockstar collectors cans into 28 days of combined time for around $1.50 a can (check out Slickdeals for more info). I ended up maxing out my Xbox Live and Game Pass time to almost the 3 year max using that method and then did that $2 Game Pass Ultimate so now I will be able to play this next month on PC since it seems that it is an Xbox Play Anywhere title so it's included with Game Pass.
Wow, another person besides myself on this board that doesn't like Borderlands.
+1
I believe there aren't many of us though
How can one like this generated, soulless, repetitive, boring, grindy shit is beyond me Maybe that's why i enjoy reading about the fails of BL3
It's the era of reskins and mass production like AC or FC.
It's not like NOT liking Borderlands sends us into some... elite organization with only a few selected.
It's really a matter of taste, style, expectations and state of mind (serious, crazy, casual, normie, sober, drunk + other 1000 states).
For example, I did not want to hear about FarCry 5 at launch, finding it way too... Amerika fuk yea and casual. At that time I was playing some 'serious' and mature RPG. Ha! But lately, in the past few weeks my mind seeks relaxation, therefore I don't mind some mindless shooting around with a tad of relaxation walks in the Montana forests.
Different states of mind will require different kind of entertaining.
Yeah, i get what you mean. I only meant that maybe there wouldn't be many of that type of games if more people would dislike them. Not that i want to decide for others, that is.
There are only few games that keep me going and i can't wait to play them (mostly Cyberpunk 2077 and Death Stranding). I tried playing AC Origins and Odyssey, tried Borderlands 1 and 2 and i also tried FC5. But i was able to stand them for less than an hour. It's not for me, i can't shake the feeling of playing a repetetive reskin that is like an insult (for those who pay for it ).
I did, however, finish Ghost Recon Wildlands (although the grind was painful). Not sure how i was able to do that, maybe there was nothing else to play
I bought rtx 2070 super recently and wanted to see Quake II RTX. Started it up and played almost through the whole game at once (obviously i played it a lot back when it came out). I want the games to be like that. Damn you, nostalgia!
Back to The Outer Worlds though - i hope it's more like Bioshock than Fallout(s) or, God forbid, Boringlands. I'm not convinced by what we saw.
Well... you don't need to love ALL the types of games that the industry spits out. Especially now, when you are not that young anymore.
When you go to the supermarket you will only buy like... 5-15% of the types of products what are displayed on the shelf. The rest is not your cup of tea.
The videogames industry is divided now between shit for masses and rare gems. Be glad you're wasting less time of your life playing your favorite titles.
EDIT
I did play also Wildlands for some (long-ish) time. It was the environments and the stealth factor that kept me going. The rest was just there to fill up the minimum requirements for a good time.
