Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games have announced Man of Medan, the first game as part of The Dark Pictures Anthology. It will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019.
The Dark Pictures Anthology is a series of stand-alone, cinematic horror games, designed to present a new terrifying experience on a regular basis. Each game is unconnected and will feature a brand new story, setting and new cast of characters.
In Man of Medan, four young Americans set sail on a diving trip, to find the rumoured location of a WWII wreckage. As the day unfolds, and a storm rolls in, their trip soon becomes something much more sinister. Who will live? Who will die?
Players can take the role of each of the five protagonists, the four Americans and the captain of the boat, each with a different perspective. Explore and discover the mysteries of their terrifying situation, and be forced to make decisions that will change their lives forever.
Each game is designed to be replayable, with branching storylines, paths, and numerous endings designed to keep players coming back for more. Players decisions are vital for survival of all the characters. With any combination of choices made can result in any of them surviving, dying or worse…
“We are incredibly excited to announce the Dark Pictures Anthology and the first game in the series – Man of Medan. The Dark Pictures, is the first example of a horror anthology series within the video game world, which positions gaming to a style closer to their favorite TV shows with new, standalone experiences brought to fans on a regular basis. Seems interesting, and good thing it's individual stories a la Persona games but, ofcourse, horror
For PC?.. Count me in, no Let's Plays

Until Dawn lasted about 6-7 hours during a single playthrough, and director Tom Heaton has said that Man Of Medan will take roughly 4-5 hours to escape its ghost ship.
I'm like 3 hours inside and i think the paranoia's getting into me by thinking that an action i've made might've mean someone's death but then things may change somehow later, yet i am unsure if what i did was right or not.. But what if i did right?...
Spoiler:
As Fliss, after seeing Brad walk in circles in the same room many times, grab a wrench and fall down a hole by grabbing onto something first, i see Brad being taken by the zombies and i had the decision whether FLEE or SAVE BRAD... However, seeing how Brad was at "another (lower) level first", i decided to FLEE... That's when Brad said "No... NOOOOOO!!!"...But then Fliss fights a crazy Brad (without face or body corruptions) and both are alive.. Everyone's alive so far
EDIT:
I've finished the game AND recorded it for later on in a tiny bit less than 3h30min.
Short?. Yes. Tense?.. A bit in some scenarios, even jumpscared me out
It has some ingenious decisions tho , specially after watching the endings on YT
In my 1st play ONE PERSON DIED....A protagonist, that is. After that i've fixed that but it didn't fixed a mistake that could make eeeeeveryone come out alive
Spoiler:
FFS, when playing as Conrad in the beginning, do NOT escape with the boat
As for ingenious decisions
Spoiler:
When looking for the best ending out there with everyone alive (protagonists), there's a moment where there are no more visions for Alex to suffer, then a real 2 headed monster appears out of nowhere... A rat comes out from your stomach and you have to decided wether stab the rat or the monster... DO NOT DO ANYTHING and the game's finished positively... Else either you kill yourself or kill Fliss , wich's the person behind the trolling 2 headed monster
Fun fact....
Spoiler:
The gas is everything but allucinations. No monsters are really there, just wanting you to jump off places and die

Didn't play much but so far I can tell you the performances are great, specially after reading how it's running on XBONE X or PS4 Pro (locked at 30 fps, and stutters). Easily runs at 60fps + ultra in 1080p with shitty specs.
But there is one thing I think sucks compared to Until Dawn : Until Dawn made heavy use of the sixaxis / gyroscope (to stay still, to throw away objects, to hit people)... In this, you need to play some "Rock Band" mini game to stay still, doesn't make any sense... because they had to make this multiplatform and well PC users don't necessarily have gyroscope nor XBOX controllers...
This I think alone breaks a little what made Until Dawn good.
