GreedFall is just four days away from release! The fantasy RPG, developed by Spiders Studio in partnership with Focus Home Interactive, embarks on its great journey on September 10, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Today, the soaring Launch Trailer is here to sweep you away to adventure and heart-wrenching conflict.
so the color palette here is brown, brownish, green and greenish?
I mean the aesthetic of the game fits the setting so what's your point? I didn't see anyone complain about that with Bloodborne and it was way worse with ugly CA to boot.

Because Bloodborne had proper artistic direction, this has a very default-assets kind of vibe.
^and even apart from that, bloodborne settings / art direction seemed more varied than this one. all the videos either show forest environments or "colonial-time" settlements
dont get me wrong though, i am still looking forward to this
Sounds like their efforts to make an Inquisition clone extended to hiring the same voice actors. I'm pretty sure I heard Alastair Parker (Blackwall) in the trailer.
With most tripe-y A companies/publishers gone to the dogs, AA projects really are the ones to look forward to these days. I remember reading that the budget for this one is twice as big as The Technomancer's, hopefully that means QoL improvements and whatnot.
Impressions are very positive everywhere which is surprising to say the least considering Spiders track record, i really hope they struck gold this time they tried often enough.

That's worrying.
We'll see i mean to compare another french studio who made great game this year: Asobo Studio who made A Plague Tale made pretty crappy Disney games and shit like that before it and yet they managed to make Plague Tale. Spiders games before this one are all definitely allrdy a step up from what Asobo made before A Plague Tale so there is always hope.

I don't know how big their budget was for this one, but asking 50 euros for your game does raise expectations heavily. I thought they made a huge mistake by pricing Technomancer at AAA levels, I hope they're not making the same mistake again. So either this a proper AAA title considering the price, or they're making the same mistake again. People are much more forgiving when your game costs 25 bucks for example.
“Every year, we sell millions of games across the world, and every year, our budgets increase,” Cédric insists. “Today, I believe we manage to line up the means and the ambitions. As such, the budget for GreedFall is twice as big as that for The Technomancer.”
“When you’re creating universes and stories it’s a very difficult process to limit yourself to a budget,” Jehanne says. “I’m an RPG lover, and I want the best for our games and players, I want to give them everything we can. I know we have limits, we always have to cut some ideas, to restrain our ambitions, but it’s very hard to always know where to precisely put the limit based on the budget. I’m an optimistic person, I always see the glass being half full…”
“We want this project to be better than our previous ones in all aspects, as always,” Jehanne says. “We have more financial means than before, and we’ve learned a lot from our previous experiences. We have improved our engine, we’ve made some strong artistic choices to evoke Flemish paintings, we’ve create a new fantasy world, consistent and with very intriguing lore, we even created a new language! We wrote a story even more influenced by the players’ choices and made a lot of gameplay improvement as we already talked about, but I’m afraid I can’t give you a precise answer about where GreedFall will succeed compared to Technomancer. We’re really trying to improve everything, to have a more polished experience, and to offer, once again, a journey into a completely new and original setting.”
Looks like an AA version of DA3. Seems you can also play a mage, and you start as a "blank character" that you can develop during the game with meaningful choices. I think I'll try it.
