Aside from the chance of some cool gore, this looks like the most bog standard, generic revenge fantasy.
what else could it be, that's the whole idea of these movies since First Blood.
IGN doesn't like it because it's not "inclusive", it doesn't have Rambo waving the Pride flag and he's also fighting the Mexicans, so it's "Trumpian".. So yeah, perhaps don't listen to reviews from those Woke sites
i actually also find that in the current political climate its actually really dangerous and irresponsible to release movies that depict minorities that are in the news a lot as the bad guys, especialy with trump and his twitter still fresh off calling all mexicans crossing the border rapists and murderers
u wouldnt have heard a word from me 6 years ago, but since trump and knowing what impact modern entertainment has on unneducated people, its grossly irresponsible and purely a popular easy money grab not caring about the possible human tragedy consequences , shame on stallone, shame, anything for a dollar, better go back to his porn roots, nobody get hurt (i hope, fuck knows if he got stds )
You mean the political climate of misquoting and fake news, the era of Google going full-on politics and manipulating search results... The era of snowflakes that demands censorship when something doesn't fit them. That's a very dangerous route.

Movie is sexist, racist, homophobic, and mysoginistic based on woke sites. You'll be hard pressed to find a positive review unless they want to get cancelled.
I googled; trump stallone. There was an image of Stallone standing together with Trump and some other people.
I listened to a few seconds of an interview. Stallone was asked about his support for Trump and he said to the reporter that he is not political (the most obvious answer ever and totally expected, of course).
There's your answer. You will not get good reviews if there's even a HINT of you supporting Trump. You could make the greatest movie of all time and they'd still review it based on your political view, if they don't agree with it they'll give you a bad review.
There are very few big movie and gaming sites these days that doesn't practice political activism, they see that as their main job first and foremost.
I wonder why you're so butthurt and go all political over a review (you tend to bring in Trump as well as a range of expletives ranging from SJW's to snowflakes and everything inbetween). Have you watched the movie?
Why wouldn't I bring it up, if that's the cause of the bad reviews? It's been called e.g a "Trumpian Fantasty" (The Guardian) and whatnot... they're clearly reviewing it based on politics so therefore i brought up politics.
Rambo has never been about politics, they're action movies. Trump or politics should be a non-issue when reviewing the movie.

It could absolutely be a crap movie, i've never said it's a good movie, what i've said is that you shouldn't base a review upon some thought up politics, which is clearly the case for many of these reviews.
When they mention Trump you know it will be a very biased review by someone who probably have very little interest in the franchise and is more interested about talking about his political view.

That's not a review, that's yet another social media outlet by some random ranter. And the fact that TheQuartering-guy drives an agenda doesn't make things better. Oh well.
I just think you overreact for no good reason. The fact that some reviewers mention Trump is wrong in what way (except perhaps it rubs you the wrong way)?
Of course, the problem with making an oversimplified action movie about a white guy “heroically” butchering non-white people is that, intentionally or not, you’re making violent propaganda. The filmmakers could have picked any villains in the world, and they chose the people that the President is saying American citizens should be scared of. And by presenting Rambo as a symbol of Americana, complete with the Marlboro Man’s ranch and horse, and then setting him loose to exact righteous, ultraviolent vengeance against Mexicans, Last Blood plays into all the xenophobia in the discourse and exploits it for entertainment value.
What? So filmmakers need tailor movies based on current political climate and sentiment? Then the people who made every woke reboot thesr past years also need be chastised because they deepend the divide in the USA by destroying beloved franchises.
Aaaaand this is why the movie industry is ruined. Can't make comedies, can't make old school action movies, can't make anything unless the culture of Wokeness gives its seal of approval.
I couldnt care less about the politics and am a huge rambo fan but this is a huge step down from rambo 4.Id compare rambo 4 on a similar level to taken 1, and likewise this movie is on a similar level to taken 2 and 3.Enjoyable, especially the final 15 minutes but you have already forgotten about it 30 mins after the credits roll. Its very much a taken/cobra/home alone hybrid and feels a little short and simplistic.Average fun action movie but nothing more.I watched rambo 4 a few times in the first couple of days after i first saw it but I have no desire to rewatch this.

It's clickbait and the movie industry sees it as free advertising. If they cared chappelle stand up wouldn't be on Netflix. The boyz wouldn't have been made. Joker movie would still be in pre production before being banned and black listed.
Culture of Wokeness is only given credence by other culture of Wokeness. That's it. It holds no value, just watercooler talk and clickbait monies. Sensible people ignore it and see it as a passing phase. Conservatives see it as an attack on freedoms. Liberal snowflakes see it as a right. End of the day people laugh at these things. Ignore them. And they get paid 5 dollaroos for writing a blog post.
How many mexicans were killed during the production of the movie? None. How many mexicans got paid? A lot!
Exactly.

Leave your political brain at home when reviewing a freaking Rambo movie.
Probably a very good idea.. if someone thinks these movies has some deep philosophical or political meaning they're rather clueless about the Rambo franchise.. the last movie could obviously also be discussed this way, it wasn't, because back in 2008 it wasn't hip to slander every movie you could for racism.
It is hopefully a phase that will pass, one that we can laugh about.
No propaganda in the film. It's just poorly made with a regrettable dehumanizing theme. Look at 1976's exploitation film TRACKDOWN, with robert Mitchum's son James. Same plot. Same style.
This film doesn't even rise to the level of camp. Needless explanatory dialogue and post-it-note villains. It's a grindhouse explication film typical of the 1970s. Check IMDB for 1976's TRACKDOWN.
Any Rambo characterization in the film is based on what you bring to it, not what's on the screen. He could have been called John Smith. Check 1976's TRACKDOWN, a grindhouse exploitation film with the same plot.
However, he says he is a fan of Rambo IV.
Quote:
RAMBO IV had overlong action scenes, but the director's cut has excellent dialogue and understands the character. "Wars. Old men start them. Young men fight them. Nobody wins."
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
In September 2019, Stallone confirmed that he has plans for a prequel to the series. Although he would not reprise the title role, he would like to explore who Rambo was before the war.
Today I didn't even need to use my AK. I gotta say it was a good day. (c) - Ice Cube
