Typical with Jap devs.
One can only hope they learned from this project...
yea about that, just look at FF7 Remake, it will probably be an even worse clusterfuck, if that's possible.
I have no illusion, that one will suck balls. It also has been in development hell.
That being said, I have almost no hope they learned anything from XV. Probably just business as usual being blind to anything but their own way.
Coop was never alive and the few people in it all cheated their way through it. You can play it with bots though.
So I'd advice to install cheat engine to skip the worthless grind (so you don't need to to the same missions over and over and over and over and...) to experience the 'story' from that mode.
I might finally give this crap a chance.... The new CPY release is up to date right?
See that 4k pack is a joke and a waste of download according to digital foundry. That right? 80gb for cpy release alone is a lot anyway

the Japanese Square Enix e-Store is now taking pre-orders for a “Final Fantasy XV: The Dawn of the Future Celebration Box” due out on April 25 for 4,860 yen, which includes the following:
Final Fantasy XV: The Dawn of the Future novel (page number TBA)
Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ardyn – Prologue Blu-Ray disc
Art booklet (48 pages)
Original post card set (four 100mm x 147mm post cards)
Original coaster (90mm x 90mm)
So that's one set of short prologue videos, one CGI prologue movie kinda hacked up and used partway in the full game, game itself, three bit DLC for the bro-mancer trio and their dumbfuck adventures in areas that were mainly unfinished.
One re-release doing a little bit here and there and a full on overhaul of this bit of Insomnia you can actually explore only we made it a pain in the arse dungeon.
And then a potato edition (Err Pocket edition.) though they change up and extend the end bit and now Ardyn and his little lay-hands-on backstory and cleric abilities to absorb demons.
(To which the crystal is all like "Lol you ain't a virgin, you can't be the chosen one, bitch!" cue emo of a thousand years or more being all angsty and moody and shit.)
And now this book wrapping up how Noctis still ain't getting any action I'm guessing.
("Bitch I killed god!" "Yeah whatever I have a headache.")
EDIT: Though I suppose at least the prologue short videos gave a good first look at all the pain and suffering Crown-prince-in-name-only Noct and his bromancy buddies would get into.
Like Prompto, sure he had a fun time in Nilf-land (That's a N not a M.) but before that he had to give up hamburgers so he already were quite familiar with pain and suffering.
he could probably have just killed all the royal babies in their sleep if he wanted to wipe out his brother's descendants
or maybe just cuck one of those descendants so that the bloodline on the throne stems from him
but anyway, i'm still annoyed at the cancelled dlcs because this game wasn't finished
especially with that cop out bs time jump
don't even know why noctis was all sad when his pen pal went away. she certainly didn't get any character development
the events during the time jump should have been the mid game. i think they just went a bit too crazy with the side quest stuff that weren't all that interesting anyway. maybe just split up the sidequests so some of them happen during the time jump era.
i did enjoy the game for what it's worth, but the story just didn't work for me. i liked the bro trip, but the story and pacing just didn't match the core bro experience
Yeah I played through it a few weeks ago finally, did just about everything and a quick in and nope for the optional platforming dungeon.
There is still so much cut stuff and missing story bits and it's pretty obvious when the mid-game is mostly a bunch of very short very quickly wrapped up segments from one chapter to another, re-release fixes a few bits by splicing in new cutscenes and giving some optional things that don't really matter too much and then it's mainly just the final act being a proper dungeon but there is so much that is barely explained at all short of having these secondary materiel including the artbook which is how you learn the main bits of Ardyn (The actual villain, kinda important.) otherwise in the game even if you pick up some pieces it just never seems like he's making much of anything and most of the time skip just tosses out important development details which the three companion DLC only briefly touches upon.
It had potential but even the bigger development hell Final Fantasy games felt more thought out and complete even if the road trip thing was always a big part of the game but even 12 which had a really troubled second half during development feels more finished or fleshed our or how to describe it.
Doubt we'll ever know but the extent of the cuts and scrapped changes is extensive for what leaks (If accurate.) there is for XV and all the reboots and changes can't have been good either though sales wise it worked well enough but with the lead now leaving Square they cut the rest of the game development and wrapped up Ardyn and now the remaining content is detailed via a light novelization instead.
Fitting I suppose that even the roadmap for the Royal edition just fall apart though unfortunate as the PC version could do with more polish, bug fixing and the now complete loss of the remaining mod tools.
Game patches after version 1.25 introduced severe stuttering in the Steam version of the game. [12] This issue is not present in the Microsoft Store or Origin versions.
while running a 4690K or similar and had any issues? Running the cracled version, still at the first area but even with Special K and its fixes it seems like my CPU is getting bodied
No cracled microsoft garbage store or origin versions that I know of to test it out, too.

Yeah this happened later on after they released some patches/dlc seems like a denuvo issue or maybe it's their custom drm code they seem to be using. I don't think there is anything that can be done, the cracked version is also based on steam and the leaked developer build is outdated and lacks dlc but runs fine, maybe play it on gamepass if you can.
A lot think it has to do with the Avatara system and Steam Workshop they introduced after patch 1.25 but Square Enix has plans to remove all the online features in a patch in June and they might also remove Denuvo at that time since they did just remove it from Final Fantasy XII. Most think this is what solution Square has come up with as to how to fix the game stutter as that would put it back in a state that is basically v1.25 but allow you to play the Ardyn DLC.
I recently started playing it on Steam myself with a 1070 and a 4670k and have not really noticed the stuttering since I am running it on my SSD. I got to Chapter 3 so far but some say the stuttering starts happening much more in the later chapters so I will have to wait and see.
Seems like all 4 of my cores get maxed out, which might lead to some stuttering especially in heavy fights. Cracl is the codex one, doesn't seem to have any shit attached to it.

Game is crap anyway you are better off playing/replaying one of the older better Final Fantasy's or another JRPG (especially the Trails series wink wink) but i hate it with a passion so feel free to ignore my opinion.
