Dude you are so not up to date... If you can't remember may I remind you: from 6 juny 2005 it is illegal to download games in sweden too!
cracking on the other hand is still allowed but uploading/downloading is not legal anymore!
Not like anyone cares... |
I know, but im not from Sweden.
So uploading is the only thing illegal
As you can see in location, Swedens neigbor |

you got a remote control with a red button, always ready in case of emergency?
oh yeah and 200gig in 3min from stockolm to jerusalem to taiwan to london to LA to Sydney to pekin with blowfish - AES - fox encryption i mean LOL
let me tell you something police is looking for, in this order more or less :
Crackers
Suppliers
Linkop
Group Leader
Siteop
Group Members
Curry Groups
Curry
Hw Suppliers
...
...
...
...
..
..
..
.
.
.
and then maybe they will look for you
anyway all your kazaa juarez must safe in pekin aes 1024bit encrypted by now

Quote: | Well, I live about 500 miles away from my server, and I always use a Sweedish proxy to upload and download. The man who runs the server knows what to do in case of an emergency. We have an FXP emergency protocol rerouting all data to a computer in Jerusalem, where every hting is encrypted with 64-bit encryption until it arrives in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where we have another server that takes that 64-bit encrypted data from a HTTPS server that resides in London and activates the FOX encryption protocol, which almost no one can decrypt. And the whole process takes about 3 minutes! So in emergencies, data goes from the unnamed server location to three servers, one in LA, one in Fresno, California, and one in Norway, where all data at risk of loss is immediately stored, while the leftover data is transferred to Jerusalem (we don't have a server here, we use a computer with Apache installed) and encrypted 64-bit, from where it goes to London on a HTTPS server and is transferred to Dhaka, Bangladesh, where it is encrypted in the FOX protocol. I think that is the best system. It would take cops weeks to find everything, while in hours I can have the tapes in the servers removed and transferred to a secure location.
No, the server was owned by ME. I host other sites there, but I own the server.
Weird0, the cops willl not catch me. I spent $1,000 to get all the SSL liscenses (sp?), $3,000 for the rights to the FOX protocol, and $15,000 on the servers and computers. That is almost $20,000. All up-front. I made back $14,000 of that $19,000 so far. |
Very unlikely for several reasons.
1) I can rent 100 Megs of space right now for between $5-$10 a month. This means it would take you 12 or more years to make $14,000 dollars off of 100 GIgs of space.
2) If the server is backed up nightly on a tape, why would you have such a complex back up process. It would be as simple as storing your back-ups remotely, and wiping the server clean at the 1st sign of trouble. The cleaning of the server may take several minutes if done properly.
3) The last thing that proves you are full of shit is the fact that it is imposable to send 200 Gigs of data half way around the world in 3 minutes unless you have OC3 or higher access to the internet. Which you would never be able to aford seeing as how you host out 100 Gigs of space.
I don't like people who are full of shit.

Consider that he lives in another country, where its harder to get hardware, internet, webspace and the like? I cant get any decent sdsl or 10mbit+ deal that is affordable and pay 50bucks for shitty 2mbit adsl, and thats in germany.

if they got the server, they most likely got the tapes i assume

That s not necessarily so. You assume todays availability while you dont know when he actually bought and installed the server. It might have been top-notch back then. And knowing people in the scene can get you some cosy spots near really big internet cables too

me neither, but at least i usually give em the benefit of the doubt over my own rightousness

i do fully agree with you on that
but it could be either way. I have seen to much unlikely stuff to rule out this being actually true

I think he's from Sweden.
People practically throw broadband connections at us here.
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

I have T3 on it. And 3 minutes is a readout I got from a test that transferred 5GB. 1 minute for FOX encrypting, so 2 mins/ 5 gig. It take 1 hr 20 mins to get it all on sans encryption. 2 hr including the encrypt.

Still not buying it. A T3 is going to give you 45 Megs per second. You said you are able to send 200 Gigs in 3 minutes. Under perfect conditions It would take you 1 hour, and 15 minutes to send 200 Gigs over a 45 Meg connection, and that is not taking into account the overhead involved in the encryption.

For anyone interested, I have actual holy water from the garden of eden, touched by adam himself. $29.95 for a 1 ounce vial. Any takers?
I mean, that story is just as believeable as "my leet sever got busted"...

isn't T3 only 55Mbit, aka around 7mb/s max. even if so, it's (a) very unlikely to get full speeds unless you are transferring within one ISP, are directly linked to a backbone etc and (b) didn't that guy say he routes the traffic through like 394739743 places in different locations around the world? i doubt Jerusalem is connected via multiple GBit Hubs to US/EURO, so you'd prolly not get more then a few hundred k/s from/to there, no matter how fast the source is.
anyway, this is all bullshit but was funny to read nonetheless
Edit: T3 == 45mbit, aka 5.5mb/s. that's about 10hrs transfer time at full speed.
