It's the same engine as Horizon : ZD - load times were manageable, agreed about RDR2. Still, to play the game on a peasant console instead of the master race machine. You have to be a fanboy i guess
Also - the visuals looked good in HZD and same thing with the presented gameplay of DS.
Nice. I am still getting ps4 version on 8th. Pc next year if the game will be good enough to replay.
It will probably be epic exclusive on pc so I will limit my 2nd playthrough to isodemo

More importantly: do we know already that it will be more than some weird DHL simulator?
Does it have to be more?
If it's hours of walking inbetween story cutscenes then I am still ok with it. At least it's something different and maybe ambitious in story department

There are COUNTLESS videos out there about what Death Stranding is at least in terms of gameplay. At this point consumers really only have themselves to blame if they don't know what's doing with the game.

The videos were boring. But on the other hand this could be a mostly relaxing game to walk/drive around like in Euro Truck Simulator and at times do missions and some weird shit. Hopefully they make interesting places and sightseeing.
I'll just post the trailer for those who want to see it and don't want to search for it.
DISCLAIMER: IMO the trailer is spoilery if you watched the earlier trailers and paid attention. If you did not it still will be a convoluted mess of a story.
And also - the trailer is excellent. Can't wait for the game to finally come out.

That's a mild understatement.
See - that is the problem. Since i watched all the trailers a few times i'm pretty confident i have most pieces of the puzzle. There are some things missing, sure, but f.e. if you understand where do these BB's (babies) come from, what are they, how are they alive, what are they for, how that will affect the player emotionally etc etc you have one of the big pieces.
Thing is, i kind of fucked up because i wanted to know what the plot is about. And i understand why the trailers are extremely vague - i would have liked to learn about it during the gameplay. Kojima edits the trailers and simply knows his shit. The utter nonsense of trailers works like a mindfuck but also a carrot on a stick. I consider his trailers (his because afaik he edits them by himself) to be the best in games. That being said the launch trailer shows too much i think. But maybe i watched the previous trailers too closely and know i regret that.

Yeah, trailer seems pretty spoilery. Why'd they choose to do that?
Is this going to be another Phantom Pain where there's actually very little story content?
Why spoilery? No idea. There is a chance it's cut and fucked up beyond comprehension and spoils nothing. Kojima used to do that - fuck with your mind and hit you with a hammer to the back of the head when you actually play. But i do think this trailer revealed too much.
As for story content. Leakers say 1/3 of the game is cutscenes so we are back to MGS4 territory. As for game length i saw up to 33 hours being mentioned or down to 20+ - all that without side quests. Sidequests being preppers asking you to do something for them.
I'll just say that the review embargo lifts on the 1st of november. Shillup and Yong Yea made their reviews. Shillup seems to be giddy on his twitter, Yong pretty much maintains radio silence. Yong is a Kojima fanboy but i noticed he was pretty disappointed when he saw the tgs 2019 gameplay live. And also there was one guy who broke the nda (i guess?) but even Kojima retweeted him.
Reedus and Mikkelsen are ecstatic about Kojima and the game. It's curious the way Mikkelsen describes his experience with taking part in the game. He doesn't seem to like games at all (last thing he played was pacman) but says DS is mindblowing. Maybe they just don't want to hurt Kojima's feelings - who knows.
After this shitty year i hope DS will be a diamond. Disco Elysium is excellent but sometimes you need that sad cutscene filled game about delivering sperm and eggs to strangers
It all depends on one's preferences, why can't it be a shitty year to him?
I would say its a year like any other. Loads of crap, some mediocre and a few good ones. But I can also easily see how some can see it as a great year and others as a shit year.
