Well apart from Vin "grumble" Diesel, the plot is almost 90% what's in the comic book.

Wait. A movie based on Lovecraft. Nick Cage and Tommy Chong. Richard Stanley who did the gothy post-apocalyptic Hardware (loved it) and the horror movie Dust Devil (liked it)?
Could be bad, could be worse. It may actually be entertaining.
YMS made a review and said don't expect Mandy, Stanley didn't know how to direct Cage.

Well, Nick Cage is Nick Cage and I never expect good acting from him, esp. not for the last 15-20 years beyond a fluke here and there. Not sure I expect anything from Color out of Space either. Lovecraft-movies tend to be miserable failures in capturing the atmosphere and style of the source material.

Mandy is like inspired by lovecraft with the concept, and the ideas and the atmosphere some of us fondly remember. Colour out of space is an adaptation. You can't successfully adapt the unknown, the inexplicable, the mysterious that's filled in and dreaded by the reader.
@Frant big difference between paycheque and actually wanting to do it. Handful of decent Nicky cage movies in the past 15/20.
