It's not bad and I can sense there is some depth in there, with the branching storylines and decisions to be made. It seems to have all the elements of an action-RPG in the vein of fallout, with looting, customization, skills perks and whatnot.
But I just cannot get myself immersed in the world. The cotton candy style seems so disconnected with the themes the game is trying to present.
After 23 hours and a ton of disappointment involved I've reached the end. Though despite the ginormous amount of designs to accommodate wimpy junior mardets, the silly copypasta'd itemization, the gimped sense of discovery, limited character development, low amount of challenge and painfully corny bits (looking at you, Parvati's quest), I didn't completely hate the ride.
Unlike Andromerda, the game managed to capture the spirit of being part of a cozy space trip with the campiness, simple but charming over-the-top politics and settlements. I liked the different approaches to solving problems, which Bethesda "forgot" to implement in their Vaultmen. A lot of intimidating acts were issued alongside my ruthless buddy SAM the exterminator, captain nuHawthorne the prick is the best captain.
Unfortunately, the sense of immersion, exploration and reward were all hampered by the fact that the game is designed to be a static and fundamentally streamlined babby Arr Pee Jeez experience. I'll probably never replay it, unlike the various Bryotitles where extensive modding + balancing and all sorts of additions can turn the accessible vanilla game into a tough survival exploration-based party. I'd rate it ~6ish/10, a very pale imitation of the brilliant past (gone forever ) but that could serve as the basis for a better sequel with a bigger budget, as long as there will be fewer shenanigans on account of them inorganic higher-ups still being affiliated to the Board of the Pear.
Ending-related:
Spoiler:
I spared no expense when it came to Intimidation and Persuasion, both maxed out which allowed me to easily twist everyone's intentions and opinions without even needing to touch my shotgun. No friction at all, my enemies just gave up and accepted me as their anti-establishment overlord. Glory to Halcyon
Looks like speedrunners have already finished the game in 25 minutes.
It is the same guy, he keeps just doing it faster and faster as his first run was 31 minutes then a day later he was down to the 25 minute one I posted and now 21 minutes.
In the end i give it a 8/10
25h , i think i did all the side quests too, lvl 30.
I enjoyed it a lot and it's like the first game in a long time i finish so quick after a release.
Maybe the most thing i enjoyed is the gameplay and space theme of the game ( dialogues were a nice touch as my points went the most in the dialogue ''cheating" category ). Got me hooked .
I'll call it a very cosy casual RPG
Yeah, thanks for the feedback. Though, it basically confirms my doubts I've had on this ever since the first videos showing the weird world, the odd color palette and the horrible combat.
I think I'll definitely skip this unless they make some major changes in the patches (doubtful) and/or mods.
After 25 hours I just noticed you can actually check the enemies level, hp, armor and some description.
Also I got bored from being a stealth sniper and shooting in general. Respecced to a 2-Handed ninja using the bullet time and dodge. It's much more interesting and faster than shooting. With it I usually kill 1 Mega Mantiqueen in about 6-7 secs or 3-4 lower enemies during the bullet time.
PS: Damn, is the screenshot ugly as shit. My eyes hurt from looking at this puke now.
I really tried to love this game, but I only liked it. The story wasnt bad, but didnt really find it funny (not that it tries to be Borderlands-funny) but if you want to go that route do it well. The dialouge is mostly good, but none of the characters really flet any special to me.
The game ran pretty fine here and didnt have any major bugs.
Its kinda ridiculous that you can talk you out of anything if you have high enough skill.A bit overpowered when you can:

Sheeshj tweak the settings already.
Honestly the way they intended it to look was bafflingly bad. Straight went on ze interwebs to get rid of most of that chromatic abortion and weird glow.
I switched to hard and the balance is better - ammo gets spent about as fast as I can find it and combat feels more challenging with my comrades getting downed quite often. It made the game enjoyable game for me. So folks: do NOT PLAY ON NORMAL!

To be honest I mostly don't pay attention to the graphics and effects. I only noticed how bad it is when I looked a the screenshot. But in this game the whole textures and models are ugly, can't fix that without mods. Still gonna try some adjustments and see how it goes, I guess.

On hard my companions get killed IN EVERY BATTLE.
I have them all wearing upgraded heavy armors and they still die in max 10 secs in fights. It's because they don't dodge roll or jump and just stay one place. But now, when I play as melee, I usually kill everything before the stupid marshmallows get KO'd.
The Hard difficulty sadly has a satisfying effect that lasts only a few hours, as soon as one starts drowning in cash and tinkers/upgrades the vII and Ultra equipment for both the character and companions, no enemy can stand a chance really. All the perks make special moves extremely lethal as well.
About halfway through the game the slow-mo became practically useless (not that it was useful before), since a couple of well placed regular shots were enough to kill most of the enemies. And if you pick SAM the exterminator you don't even need to pull the trigger, you can just hide and admire his green goo melting everything
I see videos of people crashing into the sun, while skip worked and then I had to fight the dude the rescued me and that fucked up robot shit he created that took some effort to down

There is no point to playing it on something else than Supernova difficulty.
But as with Hard difficulty, it will get too easy at some point.

The first one is if you make a dumb character and choose to navigate yourself.
Finished it. As I wrote: a wasted potential. 5.5/10

Well Olympus is a gas giant like Jupiter, as is Eridanos presumably (Saturn analogue), so you can't really ever go there. And I would guess Typhon probably is as well, being a Neptune/Uranus analogue (technically an ice giant). As such there they are simply there for flavour.
Damn you guys were right, Monarch is a total slog
Walk walk walk, fight fight fight, small 2 room building, rinse and repeat rinse and repeat rinse and repeat. Who designed this shit?
Funny thing is, at least for me, it would be even more frustrating if the game isn't as easy as it is.
