Only comes in 7.5mg doses here, but I regularly take two, although it only ever lasts for 2-4 hours at max, which I guess is due to body tolerance, which is to be expected.

Ambien (Zolpidem) usually comes in 5mg and 10mg and is a short acting Z-analog (~4 hours). Imovane (Zopiclone) usually comes in 5mg and 7.5mg and last longer (6-8 hours).

You all know ambien is known for memory loss, doing stuff while "sleeping" (like eating, doing weird shit and even driving as well as minor hallucinations, esp. if you abuse them) and tend to leave you with a light "hangover" tiredness the day after. I hate these and I'm happy I can get the other one instead.

Imovane has one side effect; a nasty copper-like taste that lasts into the next day. But I can live with that and I sleep a lot better.

You're not supposed to take them every night for weeks/months, you'll ruin any chances of sleeping without them (ie. you become addicted to them). If you're really dumb you abuse them (particularly Ambien). If you've used them every night for months you might end up with ~2 weeks+ without a minute of sleep unless you take them.

@ M4trix: Since they're Z-analogs (acting on the same receptors as benzodiazepines) it's natural if Ativan helps. Ativan is also one of the stronger and very addictive benzo's around. I personally won't go near them since you ruin your benzo-receptors and could take years to repair (severity depending on dosage and how often). They're strong and short-acting and thus have a tendency to cause severe withdrawal symptoms even after just a weeks usage.

Yes Frant, it's called the 'rebound' effect, thus, after stopping, all hope goes out the window of getting any sleep, and this can last for quite a while, despite one's system being clear of the drug for 6 months or so.

The most common reason as to why people will not come off the damn stuff, and that is why they took it in the first place, i.e, no sleep.

But don't get me wrong, Zop is a nasty drug, and should not be taken for a long period, if at all, and if so, not stopped on a whim! No Sir!

One has to wean themselves off this thing gradually, with care, as it can fuck your mind up badly, believe me, I know Wink

I didn't know so many people took "sleeping drugs", if I may call it that way. People should maybe focus on getting away from those drugs and look for a healthier lifestyle with regular sportsing healthier food and less screen-time. No?

My CBD thing happens maybe once every two weeks and its not addictive.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

If I had access to CBD I'd do it in a heartbeat but I don't. But I don't have a problem with my zopiclones since I never take them for more than two nights in a row, then skip x amount of days (or more).

I got it after 3 sleepless nights (5mg) by a liberal doctor (my regular doctor was out sick and is one of those doctors that gives big pharma the middle finger instead of being a drug dealer). Its only for emergencies for me tho.

CBD balanced weed is the best for every mind / body problems, pure CBD oils and shit without THC are just placebo effects mostly.

This is how the addiction works...

Take your tab, within 30 mins, your out, no problem. (this always works)

Depending on how long you have taken said drug, (in my case - 11 years), then I wake (wide awake) 2 hours later. Not the result I want, and not what it was when I first started taking them, which was a good 8-10 hours stint.

No good, but I still do it.

Result...

Erratic sleep behaviour, and worse, wanting to sleep cause one feels tired, but cant, but dare not take any more drugs Wink

Dependency looms....

Yup.

No wonder you suffer from insomnia. If I remember, you have a hairy tarantula spider, size of a car wheel and a 2m python !
You always have to think and wonder where they are in da house ! Laughing

Anyway can't help you much because ive never used medications for mental issues, but what ive read online the withdrawal can take up to 90 days in your case. (depends on each individual)

GL stay strong and check with your doctor whenever Everything Went Better Than Expected

Quote:
Paxil (Paroxetine) Withdrawal Timeline And Symptom Durations
How long symptoms last and the severity of those symptoms are largely dependent on the unique physiology of the individual, the size and frequency of the doses being taken at the time of cessation, and the length of time that the patient has been taking the drug.

Withdrawal symptoms usually begin within the first 24-48 hours of reducing the dose. Symptoms peak in intensity at four to five days. For most people, withdrawal symptoms cease completely after two to three weeks. New research suggests that it can take as long as 90 days before the brain has fully adjusted to being off of Paxil. During this period, it’s critical for the patient and doctor to keep a close eye on fluctuations in symptoms.
