biggesdt bullshit is that a game made for 8 year old console hardware has the balls to drop below 30, even 10 fps on modern hardware when u see those lows
, on console they would playthrough the game a thousand times and boost minimum fps to 24+ in lows and optimize each and every scene it would happen , on pc they are like, fuck it , we already got payed anyway by preorder idiots
People tend to forget to scale the game.
For me, performance is comparable to bf5, even better imho.
With current hardware (i've a new high end rig), the most demanding games (bf5, metro, RDRD2)can't be played at 4 k with all settings enabled at stable 60 fps. And why should you. 4k isn't a whole lot better then hd while using a desktop monitor.
People with a 1050 should easily be able to play the game in hd at medium settings, and plan for an upgrade cause the card is outdated.
The problem is really simple : Rockstar's recommended specs can't sustain the game on the high preset at 1080p/60fps at all, and it struggles to do so even with a mix of medium/high with all the most demanding options tuned down.
I think that's what most people would expect from the recommended specs, and what creates a lot of the present resentment. People expecting to run at 4k on the High preset with a 1080 are stupid, that's out of the question altogether.
Overall, one can't say the optimization is what the specs infos would have lead you to guess, that's about it.

More like low with stuttering:
bit of a joke considering recommended is a 1060 which isn't enough to run the game at medium/high 1080p.

People are complaining that it cannot even run stable with mid range cards , BF5 Metro runs way better your comparison isnt valid
lol I made a support ticket, then started a chat
bla bla bla
they think it's a network issue, and want me to put 8.8.8.8 dns and restart
And after 1hour of them trying to fix my "network issues" I am no longer able to continue chat in the ticket, the button is no longer showing
it would appear that the chat support work time has ended
Hahaha, you got suckered by a csr who's probably had to deal with his 100th launch failure ticket.
Same thing happened to my friend. Support guy just straight up told him to restart the PC to see if it would resolve the issue, and not to worry because he would just be able to reconnect to the chat after restart.
Guess what happened.

Well to be fair, I think people just wanting the game they paid good money for to actually launch is something Rockstar should maybe work on. On account of that's what they're selling.
You know a game is badly written when it has to be updated to cope with Anti-virus software...
I'm pretty sure they have such aggressive DRM it's stealing CPU cycles.
There's also mumblings that Nvidia have been deliberately gimping drivers to stop 10x series cards performing as well as they could, to showcase 20x series... although that might just be crap of course...

FiveM Creators Announce RedM for Red Dead Redemption 2 PC
The official minisite for RedM states “RedM, for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC. Launching late 2019, based on the CitizenFX framework and RAGE/M technology.”
It’s expected to work similarly to FiveM when it releases in time for December – which is also around the time Red Dead Redemption 2 will release on Steam.

Right, it's the pc users fault that the game apparently has performance issues, let alone that some legit buyers are unable to start it even after the first patch.
Such bullshit reasoning
