I also think the game suffers from its constrictions, because here, the constrictions remove a lot of fun instead of adding to it. You have this huge open world, with lots of little details and intricacies, but you're not allowed to do what you want. So what's the point of having it, but the dev showing of? Worse even: at the cost of the player having fun?
I think there are 2 main issues (at least for me, about 10 hours in):
Better fast travel is definitely necessary, and shouldn't break 'immersion' when it's implemented well (how Witcher 3 did it, basically).
Second, the biggest issue, is the wanted system, which is obviously fubar. I only ran into an npc and apparently I deserved the death penalty for that offense
The system even actively works against you as well; kill a lone rider with no one else in sight, and there will magically appear a cart or another rider to witness you. Fucking hell, let a guy enjoy his game, Rockstar
Yeah, i would kill for a better fast travel system. I've been using the railway and carriages extensively, but when you get a mission in the middle of nowhere for the 3rd time its more tedious than not ("oh boy another 10 mins on horseback")
The wanted system will probably be sorted out by mods when the game comes out on Steam. There were tons of mods for GTA V that improved the police response by a lot.
No one complain anymore performance issues.? Cos i have.. and lots of them. Cant even get decent results from Benchmark cos game stutters and badly. Sometimes i can play game very good like 30 mins. Towns like Valentine are just impossible to go to because there are like 5sec stutters.. or more.. Sometimes it just crashes after 5 mins.
i5 4670k
16gigabytes ram
Gtx 1070ti
And still no patch..
And like Odyssey runs nicely. And idont see much difference of graphics.
From what I have heard, BES often (but not always) works if your CPU is i5. Make sure you run BES as admin. Try somewhere between −2% and −10% (Note, if you want to make your CPU load e.g. 97%, set BES as −3%).
The aSync trick helped the stuttering a shit ton, but it oddly returned and gets crazy in towns. Let me know if it worked out for you !

Nah, that just crashes game more. And still mousecursor issue. Sometimes it isnt there and mostly it is.
Still thanks for tip.

I give up. Wait for patch.
So weird Rockstar has appartently stopped hot fixing this shit while there is so much wrong with this game. Wouldn't be surprised i've a patch will take more then a week cause in there eyes the most important stuff is fixed. It's a disgrace.
I can somewhat play the game, but I never had so much issues with a pc game in a decade.
I had:
game not starting due to launcher crashing (updating bios helped but the bug is still there i believe)
Still have:
Huge menu/bottom screen glitching (using vulkan), frequent ctd's mostly in Valentine(with dx12),
minor stuff
game switching back to windowed and not using full screen at game start (dx12 only)
fps drops in story mode while the game is benchmarked at 60 fps avarage (dx 12 mostly)
windows mouse cursor popping up in game.

Yea. Im using Vulkan cos dx12 and game wont even start. This is just wrong cos game runs sometims really nice. Sometimes its just hell.
And i have tried every single tric that ppl have posted here. Not much help so far.
Jesus, a week later and nothing from R*, either they're clueless of what to do, or they're rewriting A LOT of stuff on the code trying to optimize it, which I highly doubt it...
I'm glad I didn't buy this game, a friend is letting me use his account for a while so I can't complain much but regardless...

Yep, GTA V's sandbox activities and overall dicking around became much more enjoyable for me as soon as I installed the mod that realistically adjusted the police response. From superhuman precogs to regular policemen who need time to deploy multiple patrols and where someone needs to actually report the crime, making stealth viable (iirc the most recent version is called Fine Tuned Felony & Response 3.0). Narrative shenanigans aside, in general, Rockstar's ability to design high-quality open worlds doesn't always match the internal rules that make such worlds function in the first place, some external help is needed.
Hell, the original one felt like:
I haven't played any of the RDR titles (patiently waiting for the isodemption2 - the only version that my PC will be touching, sorry-not-sorry R* ), but judging from the feedback I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what the community can pull off in terms of future AI tweaking/QoL improvements.
Only 2 minor fixes for rdr2, this will not fix the game.
No, but a 'crack' will for you, wouldn't it?, all will be better then
Yeah.
Most are just butthurt, as they are unable to actually play the game, not due to any performance reasons, but rather, for being too miserable to spend the measly $60+ that RS (only) wants for this perfect gem (little forgetting, that they have had that much in free games + this year, and it utterly kills them to spend anything whatsoever)
...and we all know what happens as regards 'greed'.
One gets what one pays for , and it's been a thrill thus far, worth every penny/cent IMO

I'm sorry but $60 is quite the chunk for software entertainment for most of the global community. OFC it isn't much to you Mr rich man.
I can count on one hand (and only one hand), the number of games, with the same scope of graphics options as this, allowing one to tailor the game to one's needs, and it is a privilege to be able to tweak those options for one's system, no matter what.
Who fuckin cares about blades of grass shadowing in the distance?, lol, are you really gonna notice?, unless your staring at them for more than 2 mins
This game can run on a potato, if need be, just be prepared to make sacrifices, like 3 blades of grass less, and it will still look and play good

Well, I kinda hate to be that guy, but I got it today, and on my less-than-optimal setup.... I'm getting smooth 60+ fps no bother, at reasonable settings (almost all High, with a couple of exceptions, no crashing, no stuttering in towns... no launch issues... nothing.
I'm almost disappointed
This is one broken game! Can't figure out why I've been 'blessed' and others have not. Maybe my hardware isn't too powerful!
Playing Valheim every weekday at 10pm GMT - twitch.tv/kaltern
Follow me on Twitter if you feel like it... @kaltern
New drivers (cleaned and thoroughly de-bloated beforehand, telemetry removed, telemetry folders and files removed, reg edits, blocks in place etc.), same settings

I always have to smile when i see people bashing the game constantly For sure the Game isnt bugfree, but its nowhere the mess some people wanna make it look like.

The crashing issues (in my experience) all stem from the shitty launcher and not the game, but they haven't occurred since the 3rd day after release
Not all of them, i and some others have a weird bug that happens from time to time that the gamne crashes instantly when a save is loaded. Switching Vulkan to dx12 and then loading the save works. I usually move a bit further, save again and change dx12 back to vulkan.
But yeah the other craches are mostly by the launcher or occour for people who dont read the fucking specs and run around with Windows XP or old nvidia 2xx drivers and complain the game doesnt work.
