https://store.steampowered.com/app/1066780/Transport_Fever_2/
RELEASE DATE: Q4 2019
DEVELOPER: Urban Games
PUBLISHER: Good Shepherd Entertainment
Quote:
The classic transport simulation genre has a new gold standard with Transport Fever 2. Discover a whole new world by navigating transport routes through land, water and air. May progress and prosperity find their way!

Provide the world with the transport infrastructure it needs and make a fortune with custom-made transport services. Watch your trains run on rails, your buses and trucks thunder along roads, your ships power through the water, and your planes soar through the skies. Carry people on their way to work or play, and be the reason cities grow and thrive. Deliver raw materials and goods to drive the economy. Experience the greatest logistical challenges from 1850 to the present day, and build a transport empire unrivaled anywhere else on the globe!

Free play offers a huge range of creative possibilities, while campaign mode re-writes transport history across three continents. Transport Fever 2 offers a choice of over 200 vehicles from Europe, America and Asia, modelled in extreme detail; and with the in-game map editor, you can re-create landscapes from three different climate zones. Finally, the realistic transport and economy simulator, along with comprehensive modding support, round off the gameplay experience.

Open Up the World
A huge game world is waiting for your railroads, road vehicles, aircraft and ships. Intuitive interactive rail construction tools and a modular construction system for stations make it easy to build and expand your transport empire; and thanks to a wide range of configuration options, every free play game provides a new challenge, where completely different strategies can lead to success.

Write Transport History
Three historic campaigns set in different time periods and located on three separate continents will challenge you with different objectives …only transport magnates will manage to complete all the missions! Voiceovers and cutscenes enrich the story and contribute to a thrilling gameplay experience, and even the free play mode will challenge you with different achievements to unlock.

Optimize the Infrastructure
It is vital to adapt your company to the needs of the economy and cities: bridges, tunnels, switches, rail signals, one-way streets, light signals, and bus lanes are just some of the possibilities you can use to optimize the transport infrastructure. Even train stations and airports can be expanded with modules in order to meet different requirements; and various data layers help you visualize traffic volumes and emissions, and provide information for further improvements.

Free your Creativity
Thanks to the detailed game world, you can develop your very own virtual railroad landscape: the map editor provides the possibility to create countless different worlds; the terrain in the game can be adjusted and painted; and thanks to the extensive modding support, new creations are being developed constantly, which are available for free via the Steam Workshop and which can be easily integrated into the game.

Looking good. Glad to see the traffic management side got a bunch of new stuff, and modular stations are most welcome as well.

Biggest map size so far:

9x27km (1:3), 25 towns, 204 Industries.

Seems kind of small, if you ask me, or rather, dense.

They also added a new Biome, Tropical. With the right settings, you can make a 1000 Island kind of scenario, with almost all water ^^

Some nice new feature:

Date speed, click on the date and you can set the speed at which "date-time" progresses or not. I.e. you can freeze the date/year, while the simulation runs normally (vehicle degrade etc.) but you don't progress in time. Handy if you want to take it slower technology-wise or if you like a certain era etc.

Depends on the release. For Goldberg it´s "C:\Users\youraccount\AppData\Roaming\Goldberg SteamEmu Saves\settings\language.txt"

There´s an Ali release but I don´t know about that one.

Only played a bit, but it's like taking the current state of Transport Fever and made better ^^

It has multicore support ( I know!), modular station building (awesome), changing date simulation speed (stop, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 4x) more details/prettier.

But at the core, it's still Transport Fever, which at its core is still Train Fever.

I.e. If you like Transport Fever, you will like this, if not, you won't like this either.

So TF+ better engine+more QoL improvements.

Well it´s an evolution but not a revolution... overall changes are solid but we´ll see. I like it. Like sin mentioned the modular station building is AWESOME. Now you can transport goods all over the map and they will be accepted everywhere so you decide where the goods are from. That was a gamebreaker for me in the former versions.

They sure changed the economy in the game, lol.

Not a big fan of the "2 random goods per city".

Another thing to know, Industry consumes goods itself if you don't deliver them. I.e. You can make lines now, that doesn't end up in a city. So you can make money by simply delivering raw goods to a factory.

Not sure of that dumbs down the game or makes it more complicated? We shall wait and see I guess Smile

But at least it seems no longer possible to "break" a line, by changing something or the line breaking because of over supply etc.

Another thing I just discovered; In the vehicle Manager, you can change maintenance level from "normal to high or very high", if you change this, the condition of the vehicle stays better, whatever that actually means. I had a lot of warnings about bad condition of vehicles, but never actually any of them breaking or slowing down. So I don't know, what this is all about/if it's a beta thing/bug?

Only to a certain degree. There is a maximum of goods industries can store (at least UG mentioned this in their videos). I´ll try this tonight. maybe they´ve changed this?

finished goods in a factory are consumed if you need 2 goods to manufacture 1, but only deliver one, it seems to store without limit. I had like 5000 wood planks in a good factory, but no plastic and it kept buying anyway.

Remember in the previous one, you had to set up a complete production to consumption line and it was very easy for it to completely break down. Guess that is to prevent this. But now the issue is, you can simply set up a simple "take item from A to B" and be done with it.

Dunno.

I am not a big fan so far. Especially the "2 random goods per city only" seems really like dumbing down the game.

I want a TYcoon type simulation, not a "match 2 puzzle game". If I wanted that, I'd play memory...

The more I play, the more this feels like shit, tbh.

Now I realised, finally, that there are basically no heights.

I.e. If you play on a map, all cities are basically at the same height. 0-10m

If you max out the "Hilliness" option in the temperate biome (europe), you have like a couple of cities at 200-205m

Seriously, there is nothing between the 2 So, you have nothing to plan, just connect the dots. There are no mountains to climb or valleys to cross. The maps are utter garbage and shit as can be.

Not to mention they look absolutely shit and unrealistic as can be.

You want the most mountains etc. and all you get, are 400m peaks that all look like pyramids...

The whole "2 goods per city" is garbage as well. This doesn't make things harder, it makes it casual.

Fuck 'em, fuck 'em with a stick.

besides the graphics, what do these new gen transport games improve uppn from the old openttd stuff?, no multiplayer is like a freaking downgrade Sad

do these games have like realistic physix where a fully loaded train consumes more energy then a emtpy one , or uphill and down hill and loads affect vehicle speeds and consumption ? or is that too much to ask for from a quadcore game Rolling Eyes

weight, slope, angle, weather , just gfx gimmicks, or actually affects the vehicles performance?

No to all, except speed/incline.

In this one, there are no crashes, everything runs forever... oh yeah, they took that out too, now everything has same running cost from start to forever...

Sure, vehicle ages but guess what, it will just keep running at the same cost and never break down apparently, lol.
