I'm nearing the ending i think. Played for 4 days about 10h sessions and the game did not got boring our tedious. In fact I can't put it down. It is absolutely phenomenal...the graphics, the story, the world, varied gameplay mechanics. It's All very polished and surprising. Even the mp stuff is great. There are some issues like reused distribution centers buildings or bad acting in chiral artist mission (which would be ok for a side mission but it was main for whatever reason) but in general it was well worth the wait. Would be great if there were more creative unique games like this instead of mtx lootbox samey crap

I'm totally hooked on the game. Purchased it on the weekend and have nearly 30 hrs playtime thus far. This is the first game where I actually gave a shit about the story, well at least until I left the starting area. The asynchron multiplayer is very well made, the gameplay is awesome and there is so much more to do aside of just running the quests. Yesterday I built almost 4 sections of road all by myself, felt very satisfying to receive the likes afterwards and seeing people use my roads or other stuff I left behind.
Not in a rush to progress in the story. Doing a lot of side missions and just having fun all around.
the game sounds really good with the asynch multiplayer, i'm sad i have to play sloppy seconds by getting the pc version god knows how many months later. more than anything else it sounds fun working with other players building roads and infrastructure in multiplayer that players will actually use (there's a lot of games you can build shit, but it's rare for it to be useful to other players directly), although i always feel this kind of multiplayer has very limited shelf-life because of player drop off, that and it's not possible to actually share the same gameworld with friends.
Well when you get the PC version, it will be "new" again, so the community will be fresh and active.
well, i mean to say that if you aren't playing early you won't be building with other players, everything useful will already be built for you.. but if you join late, there will probably just be nothing built at all because of decay and no one being around any more.
it's not like a game you can start fresh with a couple of friends and get the whole experience, you need the community around and at similar stages of the game that you're at. i feel like it's a really flawed multiplayer design the moment you aren't playing when everyone else is.
But that's what I'm saying, the PC version of the game will have it's own servers and will start from the beginning again, so it's like playing the console version on day 1 in that regard.
Either way, the first time you go through a new area, it's not connected to the network yet, so you don't have access to any player-built stuff and have to traverse on your own. It's only after you do one or two deliveries in the hub of that area, that it gets connected to the network and all the online stuff shows up.
Finished. 53 hours and even got 26k likes from online players (there is summary at the end) for my bridges!
Incredible game, incredible graphics, unique addicting gameplay. Goty for sure. A game to remember (with kojima bullshit gone wild which I love)
I swear... That die hardman character is the best looking ingame character Ive every seen. The skin shading, eyes, facial animation and brilliant acting in last cutscenes. Everyone looks amazing but that model... Its just impossible it is real time. This should not be possible outside of cg.
In general, this is a ps4 game without any ray tracing which has the best looking shading, characters and environements in existance. No other game even comes close. Cant wait for pc version in 4k with no aliasing. Rdr2 world is more dynamic and alive but ds world is more natural. The amount of small rocks on the same screen as huge mountains 3 kilometers away with a waterfall next to it? Insane. And when the game does crazy ghost stuff it does it just as well.
I know I herrpa derrping hyperboling hard now but I am just inpressed with the game. Forgive me

@KillerCrocker Does the story have a satisfying ending?
Weirdly enough - most of things are explained and closed. Ending is very kojima esque with a lot of twists and exposition but it was also really emotional

Amazing game, took ca. 55 hrs with sidequests.
Great gameplay, unexpectedly satisfying ending with most things explained, imo it's Kojima's best and most complete game of the last 15 years. Of course the story is crazy and the dialogue can at times be horribly unnatural, but still not nearly as fucked as in MGS4 and 5, everything still makes far more sense than in those games. I am really glad the insane fucker got funded in order to make this unique game and am looking forward to his next project. Between this and Disco Elysium, these have been very memorable gaming weeks.

I can see myself getting very tired of this game. Only chapter 2 but they make sure that walking is a pain in the ass whenever they can by overloading you with goods so you need to keep balancing sam every second step he takes. It can be fun, but please, not all the time.

deathstranding, separating the men from the BB's. i'm fairly sure the balance mechanics are there to stay, although diminished with the vehicles in chap3. from what i've seen you only really fight with balance when you take rough paths and don't watch your footing.. or overload on packages (is this even avoidable?)

Just hold L2+R2 together if you want to be on the safe side, movement is slower this way but more stable. Chapter 2 is basically a tutorial, you should atleast stick with it until chapter 3 when it really opens up and gives you more options. If it still doesn't click then, there is no point in playing further.
Some of the advanced gameplay videos make it look quite nice. The zipline looks seriously overpowered. It seems the first 10 hours are very tedious before the game finally opens up. Not sure I have the patience for that, tbh. Isodemo it will be.
The numbers don't decide, the system is a lie. The river running dry, the wings of butterflies.
And you may pour us away like soup. Like we're pretty broken flowers.
We'll take back what is ours. One day at a time.
His review is weird. he is bashing the game for it's combat... while other games ONLY have combat. Here, combat is 2% of the game... other stuff You do is all unique and mostly new stuff. There are always people bashing games that are not shooters even though there is much more to the game than just shooting. It's like someone saying he don't like Fury Road because it's not a woody alen comedy
Sure, the game is not for everyone but at least a little bit of objectivity in the game would help:
He did not acknowledged state of the art graphics, sound, music, atmosphere, story (although it's not for everyone) and not a single of interesting management or simulation mechanics. He just focused on the least important part of the game.
And yes - You can run out of those side boss fights. You can just go.
I understand this is his opinion and he might just not like the game. but he has many viewers and some people might be turned off of the game and miss on something at least really innovative, interesting and beautiful
