I followed the NFO from Reloaded....moutned with DT and then copied the crack on to the install directory.

When I try to run the game...I get this error: Direct3D device creation failed! HWERR=Invalid Call, SWERR=Invalid Call

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

When I tried it without the crack...that starforce thing came up....

How do I know if that SF thing installed on my cpu? And if it did...how do I get it off now?

thanks for the help

Drop to a dos box, go into the Curious George directory and type: protect.exe /drv:remove

You can manually check for StarForce by going to device manager, choose view and click Show hidden devices, then browse down the tree and locate non-plug and play drivers - there should be no mention of StarForce anywhere. If there is, right click it and manually uninstall the cursed drivers.

RELOADED cracked games do not require StarForce installed to work. As for your error message, as previously mentioned, check your drivers plus DirectX for latest versions.

When you copied over the CuriousGeorge.exe executable, you also copied the data_pcr folder over, overwriting the installation directory files as well?

Btw, what graphics card do you have?

I hope your not trying the original Curious George release, but instead using the repacked version? Repacked because: " Note: A dodgy version of ultraiso corrupted some of the cracked content, here's the repack."

Using repacked game here, with x800xl, Catalyst 6.1, x64 and it's running fine.

Version that works for me is:

Curious.George.REPACK-RELOADED, 2.00 GB (2,151,010,381 bytes) rarred, Unrarred iso size 2.60 GB (2,794,137,600 bytes) with the crack directory size being 854 MB (895,766,404 bytes).

You probably would be ok just getting the crack, but as the crack is so large, best to just get the entire repack.

I had the same problem

In fact I was using a program to "force" my monitor's refresh rates (I was using ReForce)
Simply disable this kind of program (or revert your refresh rates settings to their default) and run the game, it worked for me.

I didn't use any refresh rate value in particular, I just reverted every setting of my monitor's refresh rate to its default.
In fact I often use a program called ReForce to "force" the refresh rates values in some games...but it can sometimes crash some games, like it did with Curious george.
I simply deactivated ReForce and reverted its settings to their default values, and the game didn't crash anymore.

I'm sorry, I have a Nvidia card...and I don't know where you can set your refresh rates in ATI's control panel.
If an ATI owner reads this topic and know where to set these options, he can answer here.

The only thing I said is that sometimes (in fact: when a game is badly ported from console to PC) some games crash when I launch them.
It's generally due to the fact that I use a third party software, called ReForce, to set my monitor's refresh rates.
I can set these options in the Nvidia control panel, but it's buggy with the latest drivers (for some reason the settings are not applyed sometimes), and so I prefer using ReForce.
So, when these kind of games crash when I launch them, I simply restore ReForce's settings to their default values, and then restart the game.
I'm not saying that this is the only reason that makes this game crashing in your computer, I'm just telling my experience with these kind of "console to PC" ports...
