70% of these are annoying Russians. Actually better they mostly focus on 2 games and can't be found in other games so often - DotA 2 and CS:GO. And if there were no crates with some items worth $100+ nobody would've played these games (including TF2). The Russians play them as a main job, they do good money from selling stuff.

You can refer to Nodrim's link, and consider that this also doesn't take into account all of the Chinese players that are using the Perfect World client (different from Steam), you could easily take EU+Russia servers numbers and you'd still be a little short of the whole China numbers.
I like my Dota ! It's a niche, unforgiving game that doesn't appeal to each and everyone, but once you're hooked, you're hooked for good. Hence its lasting popularity, despite the complete lack of marketing and the little attention that it's getting in terms of development time.
Then, it will be shown to the public at The Game Awards on December 12.
Finally, it will release March 2020.

I'm very tempted to ask "Father Christmas" for an Oculus Rift S. I've looked at the Valve Index but it's too expensive and I'm not a fan of the tracking things. So, if I've been a good boy, my question is, will Valve/HTC/Index games work okay on the Rift S ? I assume they will but thought I'd ask first I only wish there was somewhere local I could have a play with one before it gets purchased.

Valve today announced that pre-orders for Index are set to arrive on May 1st with a shipping date of ‘sometime before the end of June’. And while we’ve been waiting patiently for any indication of the three full VR games Valve has been working on, the company today revealed that we’ll be getting at least one of them sometime this year.
In typical Valve fashion, the company is staying extremely tight-lipped about what they call their “flagship VR game.” As it stands now, we don’t know the game’s name, genre, price—basically anything outside of the fact that they’re intent on releasing it later this year.
One more interesting nugget: the company says it will be compatible with “other SteamVR headsets,” which will likely mean support for HTC Vive (Pro), Oculus Rift (S), and Windows VR headsets in addition to Index.

Keighley appears to ask why they’ve opted for VR-only, to which an ambigous respondent says: “Yeah, I mean we would love to be delivering a version of this that you could play with a mouse and a keyboard, but like as we said, it began as an exploration of VR”.
Sold S months ago. Image and lenses quality was way better than CV1... tracking was nice and very easy but it still has a cable and the lenses and image quality still suck (and index is said to be the same but with worse lenses and sweet spot)...
VR is still a gimmick and a fun toy but I can't hold on to it for longer than 2 months.
And nobody asked for Alyx game instead of half life 3. fuck that... even though it will probably be amazing and I will get Quest for it ...

Pretty sure he first reported the "almost-finished-for-Early-Access-but-Valve-canceled-it" L4D3 had a VR mode:
at the 6 minute mark back in October, so in other words he's soon going to say that Valve is going to resurrect it, but until we get frequently code strings leaking, as it had been happening with "HLVR" for years now, ehhh. I mean, they already canceled it once, who can say what holds the future.
