Wizards of the Coast has partnered with the Canadian team at Tuque Games. The result will be an action RPG called Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, in which we will be able to play as the famous Drizzt Do'Urden and his companions.
And here I thought Daggerdale was about the worst adaption one could do for D&D but I guess not, whatever that video was.
(Drizzt-Do-Selfie's drunken cam footage with friends.)
The Duke trailer might still be one of the worst of sorts ever but that's probably one of the better efforts to top whatever caused this video thing.
EDIT: But yeah probably a 4 player Vermintide type co-op adaption of the tabletop ruleset or well four of it's characters and this one setting from that ha ha.
The other way Tuque wants to bring out the action is by removing the top-downish isometric perspective and using a third-person presentation instead. “I want to make people be a part of Icewind Dale and really witness first-hand how harsh the world is, how bad-ass the monsters are, and it’s not an easy place to survive,” Hattem said.
Quote:
“From a progression standpoint, we’re putting a lot of emphasis on the momentum of an action.” I brought up if progression would resemble either Diablo II or Diablo III, and Hattem responded that “those games put more emphasis on your stats and your progression in terms of the way you’re built out from a stat standpoint. We’re putting as much emphasis as on the moment-to-moment action. We’re asking players to pay attention to the action aspects of the game. I’d say we’re putting action back in action-RPG.”

Everyone is lol'ing and yukking it up, and here I am thinking we're getting another Dark Alliance game and I'm FUCKING BUZZING MY FACE OFF!! The trailer didn't give anything away, but that last scene with the heroes standing there gave off some serious Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance vibes and I couldn't be happier! The Snowblind-engine games (Dark Alliance, Fallout, Champions of Norrath, Dungeon Siege 3, and The Bard's Tale) are amongst my all time favourite action RPGs
This trailer is top KEKW, MonkaS. It's made by Twitch Chat to Twitch Chat, boomers. You don't understand zoomer culture, poggers. Kappa 4head!

It's multiplayer, probably like Vermintide so stop buzzing right now!
A conversation is also being held separately regarding a potential single-player mode in Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance. Speaking with USA Today, the head of studio at Dark Alliance developer Tuque Games, Jeff Hattem, confirmed that the game can be single-player but that the game isn't necessarily designed for it. Hattem says that, "If you play it alone, you're going to have a hard time." The impression being that there is no single-player mode, but rather just playing the standard 4-player difficulty with just 1 player.
Well they have good taste in music if nothing else
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
WTF is this shit?
RedBull and Monster energy present: D&D Bro edition?
It feels like the people that make the commercials for Monster Truck rallies was paid to make that trailer..Can my dragon have a set of 'truck nuts' hanging off his tail while I shotgun a beer on his back and smash the can on my head?
