The single player campaign was bad. Poor writing with terrible acting. But MP is pretty fun and changed a lot since launch.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
Roadmap 'updated' (not sure when, though, but probably a while ago) for 2019:

AUGUST:
EPIC BATTLES
NEW WAYS TO PLAY
New Ways to Play Epic Battles, we want to expand the Battlefront II experience to players who want something besides traditional PvP. The first of these will drop in August, with more details revealed that month.
Hm, I wonder what this is about. I dare to hope some Galactic Conquest PvE miracle...
I should give the MP another chance soon. I've been watching all the Star Wars movies recently on Disney+ (yay, for being the test country for free) and seeing the gameplay again makes me want to pick it up again.
The original Battlefront series was more like Battlefield. But since Battlefield isn't like Battlefield anymore, it was only natural for Battlefront to transform as well under DICE.
This is actually a pretty good game for what it is. It's a shame that EA managed to screw up the launch so badly.
Well it is "Game Engine." footage which is pretty vague though Battlefront does look really nice (Especially on PC with a bunch of additional hardware helping out. ) and this is from Dice who would know the Frostbite engine quite well instead of Unreal Engine 4 from a third party studio though Fallen Order looks to be a pretty impressive graphical showcase too once the usual is resolved which well lots of pixels to offset the temporal blur and some ini tweaks to get rid of the mid-tier game friendly performance for the high-end cinematic settings that aren't intended for actual real-time usage.
EDIT: Though Fallen Order does have a bit of a problem with material quality and texture detail which isn't going to give it any advantages and even the better screenshots have a clear wax or rubber or even plastic feel to the environments and characters which works against the otherwise solid visual quality.
I'd say that 'only improved' is an accurate description of the game right now.
It is... fun... on many scales, but it's still NOT the Battlefront of 2018-2020 that could have been:
- some rounds are very short
- veteran players are OP compared to new ones, due to how unlocks work
- can't choose to play your favorite map
- can't choose your favorite side in MP
- can't change team
- can't play on custom servers / with different tickets or rules
- some game modes are dead
- no Galactic Conquest
- no space to ship (interiors) combat like in Battlefront 2 Classic
Despite this, it's a fun little game that is worth the 5-7 Euro price tag.
