Sounds like a lot of crap on the music department.
Signs I'm really getting too old these days. :>

Count Zero for me was a step down from Neuromancer, very boring and a missed opportunity. I have read it twice and remember nothing from it, the only book this has ever happened for me in my life. In through one ear, out the other.
Neuromancer itself wasn't anything too impressive, either, story-wise. Most of the value is in the ideas of how a cyberpunk future might be. Characters and story were not memorable for me. The sky was the limit after creating a world like that ... and I am a sucker for cyberpunk stuff ... but the books disappointed me.

Read some Shadowrun Anything by Mel Odom, Robert N Charrette, Lisa Smedman, Nigel Findley, and Nyx Smith! The "Secrets of Power" trilogy ("Never Deal with a Dragon, Choose Your Enemies Carefully, and Find Your Own Truth") are excellent, as is anything to do with the Universal Brotherhood such as "2XS", goblinisation (the in-universe explanation for the sudden metamorphosis of certain humans into archetypes such as Orcs and Elves) like "Changeling", or heavy Matrix/decking like "Black Madonna" by Carl Sargent/Marc Gascoigne.
Dystopian future, cyberware, Matrix netrunning, street samurai, mages, dragons, megacorps, paramilitary corps, grizzled characters, ghouls, vampires. Shadowrun is the fuckin' SHIT!

I am kind of surprised with all these new streaming services that no one has tried to make a Shadowrun show yet. Maybe there have been inquiries but Microsoft has other plans for the franchise so they are just not allowing anyone the rights for a show or movie.

Grimes is a decent choice, at least there are some ties to the industrial scene (i know she used to mention Skinny Puppy as a inspiration). It's way too much pop for my taste.
It's a shame we don't get what is (or at least was) considered the original Cyperpunk music, Fontline Assembly, basically most of the bands on Wax Trax... Ministry would've been ace too, way better than that lame Swedish band they got. I guess kids of today would be too alienated by FLA or skinny puppy though.

You're on to something there. They must do some lewd roleplay with Elon acting as a priest and Grimes as a Vampire who needs to be "cleansed" of her affliction.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

I don't know the full soundtrack lineup, but they seem to have really missed a trick in regards to music, Gunship and Perturbator would have been obvious and amazing choices. Hell just go to New Retro Wave's channel on youtube and you'd have your entire soundtrack right there.

Y'all are trippin. Those are probably filler for the radio station. The actual in game soundtrack, from the snippets posted sounds dope:

Going with the typical boring synthwave (which I like!) would be the same cliche as perpetually dark, neon filled and always raining environment. Cause in a fictional future we no longer have hiphop or pop ?

It's not about that. It's about fulfilling the fantasy of thousands of players and tabletop players and book readers and futuristic arseholes as myself. We expect neon colours, cybernetic enhancements, leather sex and holographic adverts everywhere. Marinated with retrofuturistic techno-punk tunes (where's Atari Teenage Riot btw?).
Please give CDPR.

Those actually sound good, I hope the soundtrack will be varied in the final product.

So the soundtrack line-up seems to be:
Run the Jewels
Refused
Grimes
A$AP Rocky
Gazelle Twin
Ilan Rubin
Richard Devine
Nina Kraviz
Deadly Hunta
Rat Boy
Tina Guo
So there's at least some decent and fitting ones like Richard Devine, Gazelle Twin, Nina Kraviz and Grimes is fine too i guess. There are many i'm not familiar with, probably hiphop crap. lol@ A$AP Rocky, seriously?

The way these clowns sound and look these days I wouldn't be surprised if we'd killed of that genre in another decade or two.

So, going back to the topic I didn't see anyone mention that Grimes is also Lizzy Wizzy in the game. She is probably the silver/mirrored skin mohawk chick in the 2018 trailer, the lady without the mouth in the same trailer and the fair-heared woman avatar in the video for the game's song by Grimes. It seems old man Arasaka is also shown.
