What i find most lacking on the internet is empathy. Whether people are doing it on purpose to be mean (or just look stupid) or simply lack such a basic human ability is beyond me to answer. What i can say here is that if you did the same mistake as he did, you'd be just as pissed off and whiny. Money, or potential sources of big income does funny things to people, especially if they didnt have much in the first place.

But that's what makes him a cunt. He shits on video games, hates the medium with passion, thinks a game will not sell at all—and without any advice from someone that knows better—insists on a terrible deal rather than what is offered (sum of money instead of percentage of revenue). Age has everything to do with it, dont be stupid. When you're 60 and sitting down with your old fashioned games and some kid shows you what they're enjoying now, you'll say its idiotic. You probably say it even now about what the younger generation now enjoy. A lot of us here are the very same kind of people so this shouldn't be surprising.

Nah, Sapkowski was a cunt 30 years ago too. He's just bitter somebody else made his creation infinitely more popular and profitable than he was able to on his own. He went the extra mile to show off his cynicism at different times in recent years. It's one thing not to care about or understand modern trends, it's a whole other thing to shit on the same people that buy your books and support you in one way or another. That's bad business, especially since you're associated with the same people you claim are dumb fucks. He actually started to mellow out after he signed his Netflix deal, so I suspect the Hollywood producers forced him to keep his mouth shut.

I have no problem with him getting his cash, he's still a cunt though.
I'd have more 'empathy' if he behaved himself a bit better, but instead of being pissed on himself and/or the ones he set up the contract with... he lashed out to everyone.
In the end CDPR was willing no? He probably could have had something sooner and without people looking down upon him. |

Agreed to both parts. Seems unlikely i guess.
They also could do something more linear this time but after TW3 and CP2077 it's doubtful they would leave the open-world and go linear.
CDPR are (they even admitted that) using worlds created by others so i think they wouldn't make a totally new main character. Unless after CP2077 they get really cocky. Let's face it - they have to fail sometime. If CP2077 fares better than TW3 things the next thing may be their downfall (even if small).

There's no way Cyberpunk will fail, given how hyped up it has been. It's possible it might "perform below expectations" if it is absolutely terrible and word spreads quickly, but even that seems unlikely. It will do massive launch week numbers and even if the content has been gutted compared to what they original promised it will probably be lapped up by the mass market.

I expect them to focus on one of the other witcher for their next witcher game. Young Vesemir, Lambert, Eskel, even somebody like Letho, who is their original character.

They've been experimenting with other genres, like the isometric perspective in Gwent. Perhaps an aRPG set in the Witcher universe?
