Don't think so. They are pretty adamant with their mission (quoted in the interviews) of making AAA story-driven RPG games. aRPG would be kind of going in the wrong direction (less depth). IMO of course.
Thronebreaker and Gwent were just sidequests to them.
I think bronson is right - they should focus on Lambert or Letho (Eskel honestly doesn't seem to be that interesting character-wise). Or go to the past - either Vesemir or the beginnings of the mutants.

Those would all be intriguing ideas indeed, they'll probably end up picking the one with the potential to provide enough content for another set of games. To be honest though, with the combo CDPR + Witcher universe anything would be fine to me really, even an immersive-sim RPG about the adventures of talking Roach in the ♪valley of plenty♫

I would like to see a game similar to TW3 where the main character is an elven warmage (you choose male or female and this has a few changes) in The Witcher universe. You are an adopted child raised by a human family and you slowly discover your latent magic powers, then you are hunted for your blood because of your bloodline, like Ciri. You play with a young and an old witcher as allies and meet other characters, too.
You are also torn between city/human culture and life ... and some wood/forest elven organisation that tries to reclaim their former glory and territories against human encroachment. Like that subplot in the original Witcher, were they the Scoiatel?

so you mean it sounds like 99.9% of all RPG's? yes.
I'd be happy with something like that, generic as it may be.

Everytime I see "IMMERSION" mentioned in a mod that basically means: enemies do more damage, your actions consume more energy and you have to eat every 5 minutes or you will die.
Is this mod any different?

No, it changes the core gameplay of the game by generally either changing almost everything or by implementing new features.
https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/992 - Ghost Mode is the mod that revamps vanilla gameplay and makes the enemies tougher while fixing bugs.

I'd recommend Ghost Mode. It's much more flexible and you can tweak stuff yourself.

Friend who I gifted this to a year or so ago started playing it again as well. He only had like 10 or so hours, much preferring KCD where he has like 200ish hours.
So hopefully he'll get to experience that grave keeper guy in HoS.

The characters can make a story interesting, no need to "subvert expectations". Also, since you are not playing a witcher, you are not limited to the witcher signs and can go ALL OUT with the powerful magicka!

On GoG the achievement for finishing the game (on any difficulty) is called "Passed the Trial".
Obtained by 26.6% of players.
