i can borrow up to £1500 every 1/3 of a year ... no interest. As i've only started uni its not exactly killing me yet, plus hopefully with the jobs which will open up to me after graduating i can pay them off within a year or two.

Stooz in general though the investment is well worth it as the difference in salary between grads and highschool students is quite huge. I have a friend in the states who is doing a physics degree and he's worked up bills of over $150,000 now thats a real bitch, i cant really see how that can be paid off before your 45.

I agree, it's a investment well worth it.

I already make more than either of my parents, who both didn't go to university/college.

I guess I was what you could call a late bloomer. I dropped out of high school when I was 16. I was too busy getting into trouble. Then I finally got a GED (Good Enough Diploma) when I was 19. At 20 I was making pretty good money selling software and wanted to get a degree in Computer Science so I started going to a local 2 year community college. At first I was paying for it out of my own pocket which was not too bad considering it was a community college. Then after my 1st year I applied for a scholarship with the National Science Foundation. Now they pay for everything. Since then I have transferred to UCF and am now only 15 credits away from my Masters Degree in Computer Science. I have not paid a dime for school in the last three years. Hell, if they keep paying I might just go for a Ph.D. I think I was lucky enough to get into the program because technically I’m a statistical anomaly. How many convicted felons turn their life around at the age 19, get a GED, and successfully complete a year of college with a GPA over 3.75?

I have to say though, looking back I wouldn’t trade the last 5 years for anything. All the cool people I have met, all the hot freshmen chicks I have banged, not to mention the spring break trip to Amsterdam last year. This may sound fucked up, but I think school was the best thing that ever happened to me.
