Midway (2019) - 6,5/10

Pretty nice WWII movie and I had a blast watching it. I liked that the Japanese were made a little more humane than in previous movies about the same concept.

Gemini Man - 5/10

Really mediocre film. The 60fps somehow cheapens the experience even more, but that's just adjusting to something different. The flick is just not well shot or edited. The story is really dull, and the CGI is terrible.

Ford vs Ferrari 7/10
Some nice fiction (merican cars not being crap? get the fuck outta here Razz), bale, damon, ms miles, punisher, black, pops and HF2 all contribute to make this an enjoyable movie, even with some retarded cliches included.

The Irishman 8/10
Didn't feel the 3+ hours that much (then again was modding the shit ouf of oblivion while seeing this) and it was a nice scorcese movie, felt like a sequel to some of his best stuff mob guy titles.

Terminator Dark Fate - 6/10

Sooooo derivative and ultimately pointless. Didn't have the atmosphere of either T1 or T2.

The Lighthouse - Yer fond of me lobster!/10

I genuinely don't know how to even describe this one, it's such a unique Cthulhuian beast of nonsense and symbolisms that just enjoys running in circles chasing its own mermaid tail and smelling its own farts. The atmosphere is phenomenal, as well as the acting with a glorious Dafoe straight out of Moby Dick, and even the decision to shoot the movie in pretentious cropped black and white fits the absurd context it sits in.

Alas, it is also designed to leave everything open to abstract interpretations whilst bathing in its own vomit, which is a double-edged sword for anyone who wants a minimum of logic involved. I don't regret the watch though, despite everything I appreciated the bizarre ride and tragicomical dialogues xD. Six homoerotic seamen out of ten

Teminator: Dark Fate - For John/10

To be honest it started strong for what my expectations were and the majority of the cast were good and did the best they could. Unfortunately I couldn't shut off my brain and from meeting Carl onwards it started falling apart, mixing all the ideas from T1, T2 and Salvation into glorius mess.
It has 3 writers billed and I don't even know who to blame for it.

6/10 until they meet up with Carl, 4/10 after.

Terminator: Dark Fate - 4,5/10

I expected absolutely nothing of a subject that should have been terminated decades ago, yet it still managed to find tacky ways to disappoint me. It's not even the so-terrible-it's-actually-hilarious type of film or your trashy-yet-charming B-like tripeA movie, it's a painfully bland, silly, and ultimately pointless sad trombone in movie form.

Can't fault ol' Linda and the Mackenzie for trying since they were actually decent-ish in this, but everything else from the rehashed "writing" to the directing, latina chica, Carl and setting itself had for me practically zero redeeming traits that could make them somewhat interesting. The choreographic action scenes couldn't carry any believability either like in a random Baytransformers movie, there was never a tangible sense of threat despite the Termalparido's tenso stare and ADHD CGI, the movie had that faux afternoon vibe from el cheapo with Hollyboo's superhero blockbuster treatment applied on it. New and definitely obsolete Crying or Very sad Laughing

+1 about the ending. That should have been the ending of the Cameron era (not counting dark shit)

While we are in the "the shitty terminator movies were not as shitty as the new one" phase Laughing Salvation also had one (just one) + and that was finally showing at least a little bit of how a theoretical third movie could be. 1+2 about changing the future and not being able to do so in the end and 3 war with the machines.
Instead, we got basically 4 pointless shitty movies Sad

Also i agree with LeoKrishna - i don't think they could go on (successfully) without Arnie. Although the return of Linda Hamilton made me feel less furious about the destruction of the franchise.

One of the biggest problems with Dunkirk was the attempt to use Nolanesque time jumps in a story thinner than the paper in my toilette. It's fine to have a thin story when doing a historic thrill ride, but the jumping in times just made it gratuitous for no story reason.

I really disliked Dunkirk and liked 1917. In 1917 something actually happens and does not feel pointless Laughing
