Bad Boys For Life (2020) 6,5/10

It started off quite bad in my book, but it picked up towards the end. Nice enough action with new faces thrown in the mix.
But everyone is starting to show their age no matter what movie sequel you watch and this is no different, Martin Lawrence is fatter and spends a lot of time doing nothing, but he still is kind of funny.

Color Out of Space - Meh/10

Some nice practical effects, the rest is boring and unengaging and I clapped because Lovecraft reference.

Someone expecting second Mandy out of it - lol. Laughing

Maleficent 2 - meh/10.

Same old story rehashed and redressed but ultimately a lesser movie by all accounts.

Terminator Durrk Fate - 7/10

Wasn’t nearly as bad as people make it sound to be. If this was the third flick in the series, people would have been a lot more forgiving. Was dull in the middle—too much focus on giraffe, but her character is so unlikable (on purpose), that none of it comes too successful. The Arnold bits were nowhere as bad as described. Arnold can still sell any silly plot point as believable. Hamilton was strong. Too little Arnold. Should have brought him much earlier.

richard jewell 8/10 , a story that needs telling that the government and media are cockroaches , there is a little richard in all of us, and it was damn fine acting from all parties , would have been a 9 if there was more fbi and media bashing , the scene where he makes fun of the journalist, damn, now that would change the whole media world if scenes like that actually happened

The shit cgi, generic story that spend way too much time on stuff they could skip, over the top action scenes that should have been dialed down and some shit dialogue. Yeah, not as bad as people make it sound. :>

Edit: Oh right and I forget the lazy shit they just copied from the first two movies. Razz

dark waters ... 8/10 More movies like this please. But it needed more impact stuff and more tiny happy ending with more focus on the won lawsiuts and , i get they wanted to show one families stuggle, but ugh, so many , thousands of families struggled far worse then just emotional strain , huge medical strain and costs, that supersedes the lawyers struggle. also when there was 3500 cases and he got 10 mill for a case , settling at 670 million feels like a loss. it should have been 3500+ million , fuck anyone involved with teflon, they all knew.

the scariest part teflon is juste 1 of the 600 made chemicals out there .... fuck me, we are so fucked...

1917: 9/10 would have been 10 if somehow they had better color cameras, the colors felt off or low budget, dunno, something didnt feel right with the warmth/darkness but the story really made me feel like i was in those trenches and right besides the actors following side by side with them. Extremely well done depicting that god forsaken place and era of stupidity and inhumanity

Minor issue, when he crosses the bridge, bullets impacts on a stair case where the sniper could never shoot as he was right above the impact ... that was just meh and lazy oversight or deliberate for impact but breaking immersion

Color out of space - 7/10

Not an easy story to turn into a movie. Hammy acting and writing hampered it as well. I gave it an extra point for the welding goggle reference in the beginning of the movie (references the nomad played by Carl McCoy from the band Fields of the Nephilim wearing the goggles in his sophomore sci-fi thriller Hardware). Could have been better, could have been worse. It felt a bit fractured with some good parts only to change into some cheesy parts. Making movies based on Lovecraft's works isn't an easy task. One approach would be Stuart Gordon who turned the source material into a gory horror with comedy elements (Re-Animator).

In the Mouth of Madness is the best Lovecraftian film I've ever watched.

Indeed, it's the one that captures Lovecraftian atmosphere best so far... and it's not even based on Lovecraft material. Wink

dark waters.

yeah its important and horrific and we're all doomed. basically.

it was really depressing and draining to watch. i wish i had read about it instead. its one of those movies i feel that i have to give 10/10 because of the message but man, this was not a fun or exciting movie, in large parts not very interesting and also quite predictable. To follow these people (who might be very realistic but also not very likable, like how people can be) for 2h is a bit much. 6.5/10

Color out of Space: 0/10 Trash. Garbage. Stopped at 11 minutes. 'Everyone drinks water from water bottles". A discussion about Fast Food is mysterious meat that lasted forever. Just utter garbage. Skip at all costs

Honey Boy: 3/10: More trash. If you like watching hot adult women molest 12 year old boys, this is for you..If you like watching adults going to a paid pool luxury rehab center doing the stupidiest things, this is for you..

1917...8/10... FInally a movie to wash the trash taste I had prior....Bueatiful scenes. I felt like I was playing a FPS VR game...Arizona Sunshine...minus the zombies.. Highly recommended!

1917 - 9/10, the simplicity of the screen shots and the inexperience portrayed by the main characters with the one-shot filming made this film.

Motherless Brooklyn 7/10

Would have rated it higher if it were about 30 minutes shorter. They tried a bit too hard to make the story a lot more convoluted than what it eventually turned out to be.

I wasn't sure at first if I would be able to tolerate the main character with a condition like that (Tourette's, but not as funny as in South Park Razz ). But Edward Norton is pretty damn amazing in this, and sells it.

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

Ashamed he died at 44. Clint Eastwood-- you are on of my fav directors..Keep putting out excellent work. We don't need fancy CGI, hollywood BS...just great story telling... Go see this!

The Last Full Measure: 2/10 : Trash..started out good.but had to end it midway.. thought it was a war movie, but ended up being like a Hallmark movie. Yap yap yap.. boring dialog... Skip at all costs.

1917 - 9/10 Its good. Probably best watched in a theatre for immersion.

 Spoiler:

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
