When firebrand TV reporter Jonathan Pie gets a gig presenting eco-filmmaker Franny Armstrong’s new documentary about climate change he thinks he’s in for a jolly couple of days by the seaside.

PIE NET ZERO is the new short film from the director of THE AGE OF STUPID and the creator of JONATHAN PIE,

I love Antiques Roadshow, not only is it educational and entertaining, but it's also immeasurably heartwarming when you see someone bring in something and receive an astonishing evaluation Very Happy After watching that, I saw this in the recommended videos list;

and this, too, was a great vid Very Happy We've certainly come a long way with Chinese cloning/copying, huh? You really do have to be an expert to tell the difference at a glance between "real" and high quality fakes --- and you know what? I don't think I'd be upset paying $400 for a fake of THIS high quality, compared to the $4000++ for the original Laughing Hell, I wholeheartedly support the repro market when it comes to retro games, I'd rather pay $20 for a repro of Earthbound on the SNES, where someone has just burned a ROM to a spare chip and printed some high quality cartridge art, than $200 from some retro parasite scumbag gouger selling the "original" >_>

I don't know... when viewed up close, the differences in finishing are pretty big. The attention to detail is what makes all the difference (not to mention the actual technology inside). But for 20 bucks, I'd buy a fake too (and keep the real one in a safe Smile )

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.

The differences (which you need a loupe/magnifier to notice) aren't worth the extra £3600 to me. Not even close. When you pay £4000 for a watch you buy a brand. The clock itself is just there to display the brand and is certainly not worth £4000 in materials + work hours, not even close. It's a weird market that I've never been into. If I had to choose I'd go with the copy 100% of the time as long as the "engine" (called 'movement' in the video) in the watch is of good quality (which it is according to the video, it's an existing 'movement' that they've dressed up to look like the 'movement' in the original).

My guess is that the copy is €100 in parts and work, the original may be around £300+. The markup to £4000 is a swindle.

Glad to see I'm not the only one Very Happy You honestly, truly, do pay *mostly* for the branding and marketing - the history that comes with <insert Brand here> - the movement of the internals is largely superfluous to most people. A watch is a watch and all but the cheapest cheap shit is going to maintain fantastic timing these days. I'm not saying they're "worthless", just... I don't think they're worth multiple-upon-multiple thousands of pounds/dollars.

Oh I don't disagree, the attention to detail on the legitimate watch is excellent.. but.. as you say.. viewed up close. Via a magnifier. To the naked eye you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference (especially after videos like this show Chinese cloners how to do better )

Naw, too bulky and showy for me - I don't even use a watch, what's the point when we all have smartphones and the like? Still, I appreciate the style of some watches Very Happy

I'm still very much in love with my Xiaomi watch. The automatic inside surely does not come close to that Omega, but it's pretty, unique and it was also quite cheap Smile
