Licensing lol wut

I dropped my Netflix subscription because of that. Fuck if I care the "nuances" of Hollywood, or how "hard" they have it. I want to have the easiest life for myself. If I had to go to the torrents for half the shit I searched for, why am I paying for that crap again?

Well, then, there's the answer why it looks better.

You're missing my point. There's still CGI in the original - quite a bit of it - and I said the CGI looks amazing, it looks better in the older film than the newer ones Razz

Yup, my wife and I routinely umm and ahh about keeping Netflix. Right now it's paying for itself with originals and simple convenience, but we do debate getting rid of it when we see half the things we want to watch are region locked because Derpcensing Sad

Same reason the CGI in Terminator 2 looks better than all modern Terminators. Love, care and professionalism.

God, as much as I did enjoy Dark Fate.. the CGI was appalling. That scene with the Terminators coming out of the ocean looked like something in a 90s 3DO game >_<

It's baffling and sad indeed how superficial and fake effects can look today despite relying on immensely more powerful technology, and in my opinion a lot of blame has to be placed at how the actual scenes are shot, too. Respecting the laws of gravity and perspective in elegant subtle ways while providing attention to little details should always have the priority, unlike the oomph-y exaggerations or jarring hyper Bayspeedian scenes that many modern action movies adopt. CGI was obviously expensive as hell back then, but the way talented directors wisely used it made all the difference.

I remember watching an analysis a few months ago about the tricks used by Spielberg to make Jurassic Park look as believable as possible: he specifically worked on various angles to preserve a correct scale (something that current action movies often miss completely), he put a lot of focus on verticality, frame-within-a-frame techniques, close-ups, many scenes were shot to realistically follow the characters' reactions (and enhance them), and so on. Most of the Hollyboo directors nowadays just don't give a damn about that, and the audience with chronically low standards doesn't help either Crying or Very sad Laughing

Exactly! That's something definitely missing in the vast majority of modern CGI "blockbusters!!!11" - that kind of care and attention to detail is what truly makes some films that much better. I finished "Fallen Kingdom" last night and, again, whilst it was a fun film with some nice effects.. it still all looked like CGI. Not once did I look and think "wow, that... that looks real!" Sad

If all you're after is convenience then you should look into Sonarr or something, that's arguably even easier Razz

Does it run on a PS4? Does it run on a Smart TV? Both of those are what we use the most and both have Netflix apps... it doesn't get more convenient than that Very Happy

Y... yeah.. but as I pointed out on the last page; Jurassic Park *isn't* the complete set. It's missing Jurassic World, but has Jurassic World 2 Laughing Sad

It's been a while since I watched Fallen Kingdom. But wasn't that at the start of the film?
Then the ending was the dinosaurs escaping, from the black market auction, into Americas countryside?

Yeah, the story follows on from that idiot clone girl deciding to release dinosaurs into the American countryside- which will definitely not turn out to be a bad idea, honest Laughing

Don't waste your time. This move is just bad. there is no logic behind anything that happens on the screen. Except technical part, I can't say anything good about it. And I thought running through jungle in heels in Jurassic World was bad. I didn't know how good we had back then Laughing

As she gets older she resembles Lenin's wife Nadezhda Krupskaya more and more Very Happy

Scenic fun. I wish the company's guy wasn't that caricaturely evil, I was quite happy with the rest of the characters. 7/10 I liked this one better than previous two.
