Somehow it gets even worse. A few of the in-game cutscenes are butchered because Blizzard didn't want to bother making new animations. One such example:
In the classic game the bridge is destroyed. In Reforged the actual destruction is not shown. For reference:
stillbirth was a full 'new' game and it got tons of patches
this was a 40 usd reskinpack and blizzard said they are done with it pretty much already, on top of that it overwrote and killed peoples classic game ... deserves less then a 0 , total scam
Mehh, they'll just use in their defense that they have no control over what people create and are actively removing offensive content. Although i find stuff like that witty and not offensive though so i dont really care
wow already shipped incomplete with many promise features cut from the release (more raids,
Housing, heroes, out lands, battlegrounds (proper pvp)..) that they eventually added but in later expansions YEARS later.
It was already symptomatic of the dying brand. Starcraft 2 was the same and finished by a skeleton crew from the war3 team. Shipped with only 1 campaign. Should I keep going ?
Wonโt even speak about Diablo 3 and their other games.
Enjoy your Diablo 4 guises and make sure you prehurdur it.

cant recall outland being a promise for vanilla wow. A few other cut features though. Emerald dream was a big one for example. Karazhan crypts. But realistically big games most likely always have to cut something and vanilla was a large game with many dungens so i can't say the experience was bad for the time. Well, there were no better mmo's of this type at the time.

That's the point though... the very reason they started pushing the whole "curated content" angle was to prevent stuff like this happening, to retain the very control they claimed they wanted yet obviously isn't being enforced. THAT's the joke

Not me. Against my better judgement I fell for the hype and purchased Diablo 3 (midnight launch \o/) even though I knew it was hamstrung with bullshit online-only DRM. I won't make the same mistake again, I refuse on principle to purchase anything Blizzard makes.... well, firsthand that is. I did buy "Diablo 3 Eternal Collection" preowned for my PS4 1080p60, expansion content, AND offline play.
Worst thing is that Diablo 4 is built from the ground up to be online-only, so I can't even fall back on the console version this time. Oh well.
unless stuff is being handled server side, like enemies, objects etc i dont see any reason they wont be able to create and offline version. Doubt they will though. In this age devs just do whatever they like regardless what people think. EA with their removal of lootboxes is the only company i know of who've actually given in and making more consumer friendly games. I hear its another story for their sports games though.
They're building the game as "shared world" online-only, and they've completely and utterly ignored any and all calls from PC gamers to remove the online DRM in D3 - now 9 years old - so yeah, D4 is going to be whatever Blizzard wants and tough shit to those who don't like it.
I'd like to say Blizzard is in an unrecoverable position where they should listen a bit more to reasonable demands from customers, but with the release of D4, diablo immortal and wow shadowlands they'll be back again, and they know it.
That has dropped quite a bit over the past few years though. You'll always find fanbois though, just look at people still defending EA or our resident Epic defender.
Man we have our share or loony defenders here. People went batshit when people complained about CDPR and witcher downgrades. I just don't get this mentality.
And Epic is winning over people with the most basic of manipulation tactics.. Which is giving stuff for free. So obvious and people are so oblivious. Pitiful really. I just wish they were more competitive in the real sense as i'd respect them then. They have been bringing console exclusives over so they do bring something to the table. But their hostile way of trying to dominate the market is not something i will ever condone.

ActiBlizz is not as shiny as it once was.
People used to bitch about Blizzard 15+ years ago too. As a big Warcraft II fan I remember how disappointed I was with Warcraft III's art direction on launch day.
IMO they'll rebound as they always do and fan boys will slurp up whatever vomit Bilzzard plans to release, labeled as Diablo 4.
Art direction is the least of their problem to be honest... and was never something they were good at to begin with. It was always all about the gameplay.
They were always innovative and would can bad games to the point they even canned StarCraft Ghost, which was prolly hella better than anything they are doing right now.
WarCraft III was actually copied by many other RTS, the RPG elements and heroes was a great idea other dev stole.
Now it's Blizzard who steal from others. See Overwatch, see HOTS... What's next? Diablo IV is prolly stealing from Path of Exile
PS : this comes from a blizzard fanboy who bought Warcraft II, Diablo 2 + expansion pack, Warcraft III RoC + TFT, and WoW.
