Man, I'd even spend cash on a top down 2D TB RPG of yesteryear. It's a shame they all have to be 3D these days and twitch combat. Just go with the oldschool art style, a banging story and huge world and as a bonus: learn from mistakes of the past.

Just the time they need creating these games (and end up with something that is rushed/unfinished or rather mediocre) pisses me off.

To be fair, it's the opposite Very Happy We're advocating for a return to the "needs no dexterity/motor skills" style of combat; choosing options from a menu. It would be ableism/gatekeeping if we said "git gud scrub, u need skillz to play this" preventing paraplegics from playing Laughing

I looked forward to Octopath, but sadly aside from the nostalgic art, the game is quite forgettable, with very shallow characters, story and game world. The combat isn't very fun either and it's even more grind-heavy than the 90s games it tries to emulate. Finished over a half of the game and then just had enough Sad

If there was any doubt left, in the latest trailer they have a message at the bottom of the screen that says:

"Gameplay captured on PC" Laughing

Haven't gotten it yet, but is there any news on when it's coming on PC because I just might wait. Since my friends are all stuck at home as well, we've pretty much just been playing Siege and slowly making our way to Gold (which is average) when we were pretty much trash Coppers for years.

But some dude on reddit posted some spoilers as well, but unsure if that was real so it didn't lessen my excitement that much, but yeah

On the box of the game it says timed PS4 exclusive until 10.04.21, so in one year most likely.

I’m excited to play this as well but I decided to wait for the PC version.

I watched someone play it on Mixer, expressed some disappointment at what I was seeing and almost got my head bit off.. Fanbois can be vicious. Laughing Laughing Laughing

English voice acting is iffy/cheesy as hell (amateur level), the characters are caricatures of themselves (Aerith is vapid beyond belief), there are tons of blurry textures sprinkled throughout. The first scene I watched was of Cloud getting a hand job in the form of a seductive creaming of the hands/camera switches to a wall, then to Clouds face as his hand job is going on (no insinuations there, noooo way Rolling Eyes ) Oh well. I didn't feel any FF7 magic at all watching it being played so the little interest I had is totally gone.

Oh so I assume the spoilers the guy on a reddit thread that was not game related was legit based off the KH comment?

So hah. I guess that's one way to not have to remake the entire game hahaha.

I would love it if it happened.

Kindgom Hearts was a huge part of my childhood and I will definitely would replay them (for the 10th time Laughing) on PC.

When they released 3 and started talking about PC version of it, I was sure that they are going to release the rest of the series first, but nothing so far. (only the Xbox One announcements)

I still can't bring myself to finish KH3, it's just so bland, repetitive and overall bad, and to see one of my favorite franchises this way, sucks ass.

I'll replay FF7 in a PS1 emu. The FF7 remake shouldn't have FF7 in the name to begin with.

I never played FF7, so how different the Remake story is, without spoilers? Some stuff different? Mostly different?

Well remember that this is only up to the end of escaping Midgar, so none of the big events have even happened yet. But the TL:DR/minimal spoiler version is that they have essentially set up any subsequent parts/chapters to be able to completely diverge from the original storyline, effectively becoming a completely different game entirely. And they apparently couldn't resist doing so without a giant "fuck you" to fans of the original game.

Remako mod? Never heard of but I haven't kept up with the PC version. Will check out the mod to see if it fixes and improves the game on PC.

Well, i think Nomura must be braindead tbh. Who the fuck makes a plot point in a remake like that?

It was always likely to go this way, it was just a matter of to what degree. Look at any time developers - from any company - have talked about remaking old games. None of them are interested in a simple straight up identical remake. They are "artists" so they have to impose their own stamp on things.

As to Nomura specifically, watch any interview with him and he just does not seem into it at all. At least the other devs show some interest in the original material, even if it is feigned. Nomura though looks like he is only doing this because he has to, not because he has any actual interest in it. That's not likely to result in a great outcome for anyone that liked the original work. And in this case it seems like he resented those fans enough to mock them.
